TPMS keeps requiring reset

Twice today, I got a notice that I need to reset the TPMS. But there was not a low tire warning--pressures were all good. And when I performed each reset, it took much shorter than it would normally after a tire replacement. I did get new tires 10 days ago, and performed a reset that day and all was good.

Anyone ever see this before? If it keeps up tomorrow, I'll call the dealer. But I have an out of town trip Wednesday and I'd be surprised if they can fit me it.

TIA

How long were you driving each time? are you sure the system fully calibrated, especially during short drives. When I put my summer rims/tires on, I had to drive a few miles at speed for the system to finish it calibration.

Well--I was driving for 10 days and it was fine. Then today, I got the reset notice and I stopped and reset it. It went to 100%, and I drove another mile and it was fine. Then the same thing happened again later today.

Hmmm...odd. Were the TPMS tubes replaced when you got the new tires? Could they be going bad due to age?

I suppose. But they should last more than 25,000 miles. I traded in my last car with 72,000 mi with the original sensors.

If they are bad, would you get a low tire warning (which I didn't get)? Or a reset warning?

I would think a reset warning since it would like there isn't a connection between TPMS system and car. the car wouldn't know that the pressure is low...

I took the car to Costco today and they installed TPMS servce packs at each valve.

As far as I can tell, this improves the air seal.

I drove 100 miles after and the problem has gone away

When I had new RF tires installed at Costco, they recommended/required that a certain component of the TPMS system be replaced at the same time - I think it had to do with the valve portion.
