07 BMW X3 3.0si Rear differential rebuild

Hello everyone,

Not much of a car guy, but based on some research and advice from my mechanic friend, it seems like my rear differential is having issues. There's the clunking noises on slow speeds and whining noises when slowing down and driving slower that 40-60 mph.

Can you recommend a rebuild kit to buy>?

Also I wonder if all X3 models in 07 have the same rear differential. I could probably buy a used one..

Thank you

search Ebay there is a guy that specializes in rebuilds. he has repaired two center diffs for me for a fraction of the price that other mechanics wanted. I believe he is in Temecula CA

Hi there Diff man. How did the job go. Did you replace it or rebuild it. Good effort either way.

Regards

X3 Man.
