ED Specialist CA around Boston - any suggestions?

Although I am very happy with my local dealer they are not knowledgeable about Euro delivery so I am wondering if there are any Boston or NY area CAs experienced in this that may also be likely to do a $500 over invoice since mine claims they don't make as much on ED?

I'm being offered $300 over for a regular US delivery and $1200 over for Euro. I still save money on the Euro, but feel for that deal I should have someone handling it that knows their stuff!

I would order it from one of the sponsors here, but noone is close and I will need the car ASAP when it gets redelivered.

Any tips will be appreciated - also if there are any opinions on the $1200 over on ED given the current economy?

Thanks in advance.

Somewhat perplexed as Ricki Shamen is in New York (well, right over the GW Bridge) and highly recommended by many here.

Thanks - my lack of looking at the banners I guess as Irv and Adrian post so much they are the only ones that hit my radar. Cheers.

Alex Dytko!

He did go an extra mile on a road to my first BMW. I can HIGHLY recommend - I exchanged tons of emails with him, test of phone calls and I met him in person! Best part - it takes only one visit to sign all the papers, and if that is not impressive enough - he offered to stop by my house to sign them. Awesome attitude! Recommended! He is on vac. though until 2/17 or 2/18...

Any tips will be appreciated - also if there are any opinions on the $1200 over on ED given the current economy.
Recommendation: Use one of the forum sponsors for your ED (ie, select the one that gives you the best "out the door" deal including their dealer "junk" fees), then take re-delivery at the Performance center in Spartanburg, SC. That way it won't matter what CA you use because re-delivery will be PCD and you'll have 2 great trips and experiences to remember
[you might even get the car a little faster via PCD then just direct to another dealer]

Not sure what model you are planning to buy, but if a 328i or 335i I've seen deals as low as ~$300-500 over ED Invoice. If an M3, ~$1K over ED Invoice would be a good deal.

Thanks guys - I'm getting the idea. My CA is nice enough and I do get the red carpet treatment with service loaners when needed - I'm even having them come 15 miles to my house to pick up the car and return it. You see we are rather isolated from BMW dealers north of Boston. So it's a trade off taking from a further away dealer. The bottom line for me is if I can't get an ED deal I am happy with then why use someone who doesn't know the ED process - i'll put up with it for a good deal (they are offering $300 over for US delivery/$1200 ED).

I agree about taking it PCD delivery and this is tempting as BMW mailed me a coupon good for a driving course there - speaking of which does anyone know if they are still valid? However, having waited a month for it to be shipped, I then have to carve out time to away from work, family blah, blah to bring it home. Besides, it would be too slow and boring driving back on the Blue Ridge PWay - not a straight price of road - quite intolerable!

1.) How is it worth working with someone who doesn´t know the process - regardless of savings? Too many little things that can go wrong to risk it.

2.) When you do compare deals, make sure you look at the entire deal, incl. doc fees and other misc. items. If leasing, you have to include any bank fee and MF markups.

I did my ED thru Wagner BMW of Shrewsbury, MA (it's about 30 miles or so due west of Boston) and got great service and the "right" deal, but my CA no longer works there. I'm not sure where he works now, unfortunately.

Thanks for the words of wisdom Jonathan and all. Having not been called back on the most basic questions e.g. Does BMW invoice for Training fees and MACO on ED? I am seeing the light. I have been offered a good lead from another member for a reasonably local center and will see how they price up. I'm not trying to short change folks, just trying to get a 335i to fit my budget for the new economy...it's not easy with the price increases and residual reductions over the last 12 months... Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining.

Jonathan: Do you know if the insurance coverage for ED is good for lapping the Nordschleife? I have no intentions of paying the Euro 1500 / metre of armco, but at least want to know the car is covered! Thought you would know. Thanks.

If you mean the Touristenfahrt, then yes (but I need to issue a disclaimer here that you need to read your policy and consult your insurance professional )

He did my ED in Sept 09. Pleasure to work with and an extremely good price.

Highly recommended!

Geez! Not them! Upon walk-in I asked specifically for an ED specialist and I had to deal with Xxx over there. He couldn't even price the car properly for an ED! He didn't drive a BMW! He knew way less about the 3- car, yet alone about ED than me, after a week lurking on this forum... And their selection of the cars on the parking lot is minimalistic, we were not able to look at the selected color combination or try the new iDrive int he showroom... Definitely, NOT recommended.

Go with a closest board sponsor! That's recommended!

Hmmm....done 2 without a hitch....1K (or less!) over invoice.

Sticking with New Country & Seth for number 3.
