Do you get attention and compliments??

I owned a Z3 now a Z4, and still get looks, waves, thumbs up and compliments. We sometimes participate in local "Cruise Nights", and surprised at the attention this vehicle gets. Frequently in traffic some one will yell over "nice car"...Last year I drove (3000 miles RT) to Sturgis, SD for the bike rally. It was great cruising Sturgis and the badlands---even with all the great looking bikes I still got compliments. These vehicles have a look about them and I am loving every minute of it!

Mein Auto:
From the guys I work with who drive v8's. "Nice car, is that your wife's car? I thought only hairdressers drove them". Not so much now as I leave them in my wake, zipping through and around them in traffic, especially exiting round-abouts like a sling shot.

From everyone else I might pass, absolutely agree, lots of positive comments.

I had to put very dark tint on my wife's Z because she got a few too many thumbs up and compliments.

It never fails to get compliments while refueling.

However in Newport Coast (where I reside)...its too low-buck to get noticed....and these folks don't own cars to love the experiance..they own them as status symbols,so I don't expect even a nod here,lo.

Yes, everywhere. People come up and ask what it is, or say "Now THAT must be fun to drive!" (It is). Never have heard a negative comment either.
At Bimmerfest the German film co asked us to be in their film, the color is so unusal...

Yesterday at a stoplight, a guy in a Boxster S says "hey, nice car".

My Z4MC's rarity attracts lots of curious looks. But I gotta tell you, it's nothing compared to the attention that my previously modded NSX used to get

While at a stop light in Los Angeles, in the MZ3 with the hardtop, someone asks, "Nice car! Is that a Z8?"

Usually on the highway, I'll see cars "circle" the coupe, possibly to get all the angles, then a "thumbs up". I get many compliments from other Z owners.

Parked on the street in front of a restaurant we were going into. We got a window looking at the Zed. My wife couldn't believe how many people walking down the street would stop, look, point at the car. Better than 50% of the people walking going by had some reaction to the car just parked on the street...

hehehe..yeah i get compliments here and there. But i hate the fact that since i'm so young that some people including some of my friends think my parent bought it.

I like the looks that i get and everytime i see another Z4 driver i give them a thumbs up or wave at them and if they are really close or next to me i say " heY! i like your car." =] hahaha.

I see a ot of them now here around the East Bay Area.

There is no problem if your parents bought it for you as long as you fully appreciate it and have good core ethics and values. When people come at me (I'm 23) with snide comments like, "mommy and daddy bought it for you right kid?" I just simply say, "sorry my parents were successful." That one liner gets them steaming

Yes the roadster gets plenty of looks as it is a flashy 2 door sports convertible. Fellow Z4 drivers give nods and thumbs ups too.

anywhoo imma start using that line from now on. " Yeah, sorry my parents are succesful" ( eventhough not really)

Back in the early days when the BMW's you'd see were 2002's, Bavarias, 3.0 CS's etc. we all used to flash our lights at each other. Haven't had anybody to that to me in years, though the '73 2002 is currently out of service.

I get them all the time too. Always a beeming smile is returned. It was funny one time. I was parked in San Francisco and a woman waled by (her hubby in tow) and I was sitting in the car doing a txt msg or something and she commented to her hubby, "come over and look at this car. It's amazing". She then had to run her hand over the freshly detailed hood! The funny part was that I saw her and she almost jumped out of her skin when she realized I was in the car. I just smiled and got a smile in return! I guess some people look with their hands!

A couple of funny one's

While fueling up one evening, A youg guy gets out of his moded s10 walks up to my car and looks her up and down. He then looks up and states " that thing is F#@4ing rediculous"
I believe he ment that in a good way.

Soon after I purchaced my coupe a car full of kids pulled up next to me at a stop light. I figured they wanted to do somthing stupid like race but then the cars window came down and three arms extended with camera phones ponting right at the coupe. This was silly, but I enjoyed it.

The NSX definitely gets more looks, but the coupe leaves it like its got the parking brake engaged.

The NSX stereo is a nightmare to upgrade/replace and there are all kinds of things that need fixing.

However, so far so good.

I tend to wave to anyone who's driving a convertible. My attitude is that if you're driving a convertible you're probably proud of your baby. Saw a beautiful 'vette convertible the other day. Don't know the year but I'm guessing late 60's by the shape. Gave the thumbs up and got the same in return.

I've gotten a couple comments about my Z4 when filling up and some looks and some pointing, usually from little kids(wow cool car). But I live near Seattle and BMW's are all over the place and it seems the car usually goes unnoticed.
