2013 BMW E70 N55 Low Oil Presssure Warning.

Had the limp home mode once in the driveway and installed a new BMW Dealer supplied sensor. Was checking out the oil pressure and it is around 35 psi when warm at idle and varies through the rev range. Everything appears to be within specs but it popped a new low oil pressure warning as I was watching the pressure. It cleared and did not come back, YET. I really cannot see why the light should have come on?

By 'sensor' which sensor did you replace?

Could be a wiring issue- bad connection/intermittent.

OE is Original Equipment aka 'BMW Original Parts' aka 'What you buy at the BMW dealer with a BMW label'

OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer... EITHER the company that made the OE part or.... A part this is identical to the OE part, but is sold by the OEM under their own label

OEM is not what BMW sells

Oil Pressure sensor. I was watching the numbers all the time and there was no low pressure reading. As the DME uses this sensor to trip the code I am baffled as to how it could be popping a code at 37+ psi?

By a noisy contact OTHER than right AT the sensor. A loose plug, connector, pin.

I'm not sure why it is so baffling.....
