DIY F30 Battery Replacement (Helpful) Info

Thank you for all of those.

Have you tried it yourself? Because those drawings arenít too helpful in real life. The F33 is the convertible and there doesnít seem to be any way to access the battery except to remove ALL of the trim, which is difficult because of the huge stabilizing brace in the trunk which the convertibles have.

With all the drawings I looked at, I still broke one of the clips.
I did win in the end.

The F30 sedan & F22 coupe I've had are not as challenging, evidently! Glad the TIS link could be of some help.

I donít know why, but for some stupid reason, BMW provides no battery access panel in the 4-series convertible and you need to tear out a LOT of trim to get to it... and itís made quite difficult because of the huge brace thatís in the way.

But itís a really fun car to drive!

Man, for me thank gawd for my local Indie shop, made friends with the manager at that shop and he is also an car enthusiast has a Golf R. They got me a OEM battery installed and coded for under $300, took them about 15-20 mins tops, also i found out just to make sure i needed a new battery when i bought my CTEK MXS 5.0 trickle charger, if that things doesn't go pass the first yellow light, you definitely need a new batt ASAP...

CTEK MXS 5.0 is a fully capable AGM battery CHARGER, and not a trickle-charger which has a technical definition.
