E63 / E64 6 Series (2004 - 2010)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

Advice on buying 09-10 e63

Hey everyone,

I'm in Atlanta and in the market to buy a 650i coupe but wanted some advice on what to look for/expect before buying.
Looking to buy a car under 100k miles and no damage.
Any advice? Thanks again.

Welcome to Bimmerfest!

I moved your posting to the E63 forum so you can get advice and feedback from actual E63 owners.

There's a "sticky" thread on the main E63/64 page with all the answers you'll need, think it's the second thread down .

Take the time & do your homework. If you take the car to the local BMW dealer for repair, the average repair bill will average at least 700.00. You don't want to be surprised after you buy the car!

They will cost money to maintain. Quite a bit of money. Itís not so bad if you are working on them yourself. There are some very expensive repairs that are often needed that can range from $1,000 to $6,000 each if they havenít already been done. A service history with proof means a lot. If you find one that you are interested in just post the service history here for feedback.

Do you have any particular objectives in mind?

I tend to own my cars for a long time. In another year or two I'll probably drop collision on the insurance.

Check with A & M Motorsports as he will buy a lot of German cars from the auction. He can buy what ever you want, for probably around a 1000.00, or less over his cost. I do not think that anyone can still go to the auctions, but the cars are rated by quality, & you buy based on that. If something is hidden on the car & found later, they will make it right. I would go for the 2010 model since it has the latest in the audio & Nav system for the last year model for the E63. 2011 to a 2014 have motor problems, so I would stay away from them. Ask to speak with the owner, I can't remember his name? He can look at the current auctions & show you what they are selling for. Remember there will be the 8% TAVT will apply to a private sell, or a dealer.
