X1 F48 (2016 - current)
Second generation F48 BMW X1 builds on the success of it's predecessor. Increases in power, interior and cargo space keep it a leader in the small SUV field.

Mein Auto:
advice on 2107 vs 2019 x1

Hi all

first post here

moving away from my old tried and true MB 2003.

have been trying to decide between Audi Q3/5 and Lexus NX and X1.

like the Q3 but they're hard to find (and Q5 is quite pricy). NX is fine but lacks any sense of fun as a vehicle.

so to the X1:

there are some low mileage 2017 X1's and 2019 (I'm in Alberta Cda)

cost diff between 2017 and 2019 is about 2 to 3k.

any thoughts? is the 2019 that much better or different than a 2017?

thanks for any input

For such a small difference in price and everything else being equal as per options etc... I would pick the 2019.

2017 vs 2019 pretty much the same car minus exterior facelift, shifter to new electronic wand style one and I believe transmission went from Aisin to the ZF. As previously mentioned by Blue Knight, if pricing is negligible in your opinion, I go for 2019 one.

Another feature for 2019 vs the 2017 X1 is the updated iDrive version. I believe the changeover to the ZF transmission applies to the 2020 model line.

I have a 2017 X1 X Drive and its actually pretty good in most ways. I personally do not like the ride - I think the shocks are valved too loosely for rebound control (M Sport suspension) but in performance and reliability it's been great. One thought for opting for the 2019 is that it likely will still have factory warranty whereas the 2017 may not or it may not have more than a few months left of it. To me, the factory warranty is a major benefit to having.
