Adjusting e70 panoramic roof to eliminate wind noise

I have been searching the net all afternoon trying to find clues on adjusting my sunroof so it seals better. Over 30km/h creates quite a bit of wind noise. If I push up on the front of the sunroof whilst driving, the noise totally disappears. I recall reading of a pair of screws that can be loosened, then after pushing the glass upwards, the screws are tightened again in the new position. Am I imagining this? I read a lot about replacing seals, but can't find anything further regarding the location of these screws. I have done a reset procedure a few times to try to reseat the roof, but it still isn't closing tightly. Anyone able to offer some clues?? Thanks in advance!!

Next year, given the car is still with me, I'm gonna probably take it to the dealer to do The seals around it as they are all dry and cracked. Don't want to mess with a leaky roof.

My noise is screeching from it. Like the 2 pieces of glass is rubbing against eachother when I drive over uneven road. Specifically during cold weather.

The sunroof is not watertight, the seals are not watertight, and is not intended to be watertight, it is expected to leak. That's what the gutters are for.

Open your roof shade and go through a car wash.

I had the shade open, but never knew about the existence of gutters. Thx Doug! Saved me a bunch of $$$ or embarrassment. Next is to stop the squeeking and get to know any general maintenance to be done on it

I dislike built-in rust holes. So far I have only opened my sunroof and moonroof a couple of times per year to clean and inspect particularly the gutters and lubricate the sliding parts.

Years ago I bought a 1# tube of DC-11 silicone boy-butter that is perfect for this application. BMW even sells a special cleaning tool for the gutters.

I have had 5 series cars for years. I have never considered that the sun roofs are designed to leak. Sure they have gutters to catch some drips or minor seepage but supposed to leak.... I don't agree.

My gutters stay perfectly dry because my seals are are in great shape.

I will inspect the X5 a bit closer but if I see leakage the seals will get replaced.

Saying they are supposed to leak implies there is a spec on how much so the drains can keep up.

Speaking of keeping up, the drain hoses EACH permit 3 liters/minute.

HA! that's awesome - Figures BMW would have a spec for that

But I still would not describe it as "expected to leak" especially almost 1 gal/min. If it does leak they have allowed for it. If .8 gal min were leaking through the seal, how does it not quickly become 1 gal/min as it deteriorates further?

either way... this post made me go inspect mine. While i was there I cleaned up the seal and applied gummi pflege.
