USB in glove box not working after CCC to CIC upgrade

Hi,
yesterday I upgraded from CCC to CIC. Everything went fine. Today i wanted to activate navigation and update the maps.

But nothing happens when I plug in a USB stick in the glove box. I tried different sticks with FAT an FAT32. Also the LED of the stick is not blinking.

My car is a E92 from 04/07. I have an AUX port under the armrest but no USB. In the trunk i only have a TCU, no MULF.

The USB cable and the USB plug aren't original from BMW. I measured the port with an open usb cable and a multimeter and there are 5 volts but only if I connect the data pins.

Has anyone an idea whats wrong here?

Did you connect the USB cable and port to the beige connector on the back of the cic? This is a common problem with universal usb, try to cut off the guide tracks on the HSD cable, and turn the connector 180 degrees. If this makes the LED on the USb flash you are good to go

It will be software issues. Maybe cic software is very old and doesn’t have usb map update compatibility. Because in first cic navigations, maps can be updated via dvd not usb.

I cut the guide tracks and turned the connector 180 degrees but its not working. Maybe data+ and data- pins are switched.

CIC has the newest software on it and my VIN is also in the UIF.

Okay I soldered a cable and switched Data+ and Data- but still no connection.

I think I will get an OEM cable

Ok it works now. I switched the ends of the cable and also turned the USB connector 180 degrees.
