E46 Coupe Lights on E46 Sedan???

Ok, so this is my first time posting on a forum so be nice...

I have a 2004 325i E46 Sedan in my hands and I would like to know if its possible to replace the facelift headlights with the pre-facelift coupe headlights... I really like the M3 look and the lights on the facelift dont fit me. I looked online but i termed my searches wrong or something... i couldnt find anything about this topic.

what i have:

please let me know if what im asking is possible. i can see that the hood would alignt slightly off and the quarter panel too because of the lift but that wouldnt matter considering my future plans are possible as well (m3 hood and quarter panel swap...)

cheers- dj grimmix_a__a2_

You need to check to see if all the part numbers are the same on realoem.com.

I don't think so. But I've been wrong before.

Hi Djgrimmix,

I feel your pain! I have a 1999 328i. I chose a pre-deface model for pretty much this reason.

I think you will have an easier time with parts from a sedan. I think you will need a hood as well as quarter panels.

Phil

I use to have a prefacelift sedan 325i which had red and amber. I purchased replacement lights which were from a facelift sedan. Red with white in the middle. Unfortunately, I found out the plug was different and the set up was also different. I was unable to use the post facelift tail lights on my pre facelift sedan. I do know that sedan, coupes and convertibles tail lights are not interchangeable. While they look the same, they are not interchangeable. So, you wont be able to replace your lights with ones from an M3 coupe. I'll save you the trouble don't get the M3 lights.

1) Plugs are different.
2) Hood is different.
3) Fenders are different.
4) Mounting brackets are different.

Unless you want to spend a fart-ton of money, it's just not doable. Sorry, man.
