hi guys

A friend of mine is offered to buy a 2005 525 diesel which was drown in an underground parking lot. i would like to have some ideas from you guys of how much damage the water has done to the car. when you turn on the ignition all the dashboard lights come as normal but the car does not start or crank. when he check the engine there was not engine oil at all(it was drained for some reason). The mileage of the car is appros 77k km.

so guys what do you think may be the possibilities?? is the engine gone completely or can be used?? what about electronic parts and sensors?? is the car repairable or he should forget about it..

Your ideas and sugestions will be much appreciated.

Are you still looking at this car? Was it completly flooded or just the motor? The oil was drained to get all of the water out of the motor since it cannot compress water. If it does not crank or anythingthe problem is with the electrics. There is probably too much damage for it to be repaired, you will have to replace alot of parts, who knows if the crank is bent and so on. Also who knows down the road what problems you will have. If your looking for a quick fix this is not a good buy.
