Tranny service parts

A little help in what to get. There are more options then I thought would show up when I put in my vehicle info. I've seen a lot of different transmission models tossed around here, but ZF sticks out in my mind since that's what it said when I looked up my specs on one of those BMW info websites.

Same goes for the solenoids. There are only a couple of options... but still not sure on the diffence except an extra part that I may or may not need.

And last but not least brings me to the thermostat. BMW original or Mahle? Or is it a matter of preference?

Thanks for the input guys and your time!

You have the ZF 6HP 28X. I got my parts here. https://www.thectsc.com/

I think this is your solenoid kit

OE is Original Equipment aka 'BMW Original Parts' aka 'What you buy at the BMW dealer with a BMW label'

OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer... EITHER the company that made the OE part or.... A part this is identical to the OE part, but is sold by the OEM under their own label

OEM is not what BMW sells

Thanks for identifying my tranny.

Awesome guys. Just what I needed. Definitely cuts the confusion down and I don't know what's better.... saving money or getting service after the sale. Plus I'm sure i can pickup the phone and get them to order what I need so I know it's right when it comes in.

how much money? Ask them if they will match? Or maybe "Hey, could you confirm your kit ABC is the same as XYZ?" link to both, they will see the pricing, maybe tell you if they are indeed equivalent.
