Did a week-long roadtrip from NY to Maine and back. Sadly this is the only pic I have with the X in it.

Camden, ME:

Acadia National Park, ME:

Sunrise atop the mountains:

Kennebunkport, ME:

Kids are also in travel hockey so we go to a few places on the east coast a few times a year - gives me an excuse to drive! Gets a little tight with 3 adults and 2 kids' gear though. And for sure I wish I got the comfort seats.

The road going up Mt. Hood was probably the worst though...

Hence why I created it. Focus on the positive aspects of ownership instead of all negatives.

Triathlon weekend at Lake Berryessa near Napa. Beautiful scenery but cold and muddy after it poured rain late last week.

The weather cleared so I took pictures after the race to share.

looking good! Our X5s are twins. Except mine has sports package with 20s. I also have about 67,000 miles.

Have been meaning to post some pics for a while.
I suspect my poverty donut spec wheels will get some downward looks but i don't care too much.
here's the trusty (i scoff a little) 2007 3.0d on a holiday up to the Byron Bay Hinterland, Australia recently...

packed ready to drop off the dog at the parents...

About an hour west of Byron Bay...

Surf check far north NSW...

(it was a slightly muddy holiday)

Looking great! Nothing shameful about poverty spec donuts, especially if you need to do some light off-roading

I have been meaning to post photos from a ski trip back in March. Drove from San Diego out to Breck - we skied at A-Basin, Vail, Copper, and Breck for a week and then made the drive back. Road conditions were just fine for the entire trip. Adult spring break!

Truck ran like a champ over the 2000ish miles - right before the trip I replaced the water pump, T-stat, and idler pulley

Some great trips!! We took ours to Holland once and then when we moved back stateside, it went to CO with us (2000 miles round trip).

I was flabbergasted when we were loading up for our first road trip (family of 4) and things didn't fit nearly as well as they did in the mid-size wagon I was driving at the time (Ford Mondeo). After our stroller didn't fit, we conceded and moved everything to the Mondeo for the trip at the sacrifice of some comfort and luxury, but couldn't argue with 40 mpg's either! Since then, the X5 has been primarily been a commuter!

Yea, hikes are awsome there... We went with small kids so we did just easiest once, and planning to return next year to finish 4 Miles trail, this year we did like mile from the top and mile from the bottom...

Ooh, Rocky Mountains... We went there right before our first child was born. Beautiful place! It was August but we still managed to get into snow storm at the top.

Did you guys went to Pikes peak? That was hell of the ride... 14K feet above.

Here is my contribution to the thread, and to keep thread going on.
So around mid-June, we left Colorado Springs and drove to las Vegas. Spent two days at my wife's parents house, then drove to San Diego to see old friends (we used to live in SD). Then we drove back after four days to Las Vegas where my wife stayed with her parents while I was in Europe. Here is photo for those who claim that X5 is not practical (changing diapers is always pain in the butt) and two of entering Vegas and scorching heat wave that was going on (temperature in my X5 is set to celsius):

Although I live 45 minutes from Pikes Peak, every time I go to the top it is some sort of an adventure. This was taken on 07/20/2017.
My friend came to visit me from Alabama. He rode his R1200 GS BMW.
This is when diesel power meets boxer power
