X1 F48 (2016 - current)
Second generation F48 BMW X1 builds on the success of it's predecessor. Increases in power, interior and cargo space keep it a leader in the small SUV field.

Where is 2018 X1 being produced in Germany?

I will be doing European Delivery this May when I will be picking up my new X1 in Munich. Rather than doing the same factory tour again I would like to see where my car was actually assembled. Online searches didn't help. Some say Leipzig others say Regensburg. And I know mine won't be from Brazil.

2018 F48s are all built in Regensburg or Brazil.

Isn't some production being moved to Born, Netherlands, alongside MINI Countryman production, which exclusively happens there? I thought I'd read that.

Maybe in the future, but the current dealer release shows all 2018s being produced at the two plants shown above.

I remember reading that the plant in Brazil was to meet expected X1 demand in the U.S. I wonder if the demand isn't here hence the 2019's coming from Regensburg only. In January the X3 and X5 were outselling the X1 by nearly 2 to 1 and 3 to 1.

I just did ED for an X1. I thought it was going to be made in Leipzig but it turned out it was made in Regensburg.

Back in 2015 on our ED we did the plant tour in Leipzig (an amazing, beautiful building), but this time around it looks like we'll visit Regensburg.

Regensburg is about an hour North of Munich. Corporate HQ is Munich but it may actually be the Regensburg facility they take you to if you’re actually seeing it produced.

But to hell with the Factory, do you know whats a couple hours drive from Regensburg (3 hrs from Munich)? THE NURBURGRING!!! Anyone can say they went to Germany and saw a factory. But who can say they took ANY vehicle for a hot lap around the Nurburgring, let alone a BMW.

Best $50 you’ll ever spend if you’re a serious Gear Head & BMW fanatic.

Make sure you post a pic or better yet a video.

Congratulations & best of luck!

This press release a little dated - Regensberg and VDL Nedcar, Netherlands

Also a reply to an old thread, but our Canadian-spec 2019 X1 was assembled in Born by VDL Nedcar. I wonder if the US ever got any 2019 X1s from that plant or if they were indeed exclusively from Regensburg, as suggested above.

Unknown - I do know that VDL Nedcar produces all MINI Convertibles, and now apparently that is true for Countryman models.

It seems to make sense that if VDL Nedcar is just supplementing BMW X1 production with Regensberg producing the bulk, that VDL would focus on production for just select markets.
