E63 / E64 6 Series (2004 - 2010)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

I saw a 2006 M5 down near San Francisco for 10k on the M5 forum in you are looking for a play toy, might be worth checking on? Seems like the guy has dumped a lot of money into it.

Thanks Herb, but I have 2 kids in college so the last thing I need is an M engine to dump my money in.

That being said I have a friend that has a 2008 Z4 that I might pick up for almost zero $$$. It has 180k miles and may need a clutch to that would be the toy to play with .

Am I nuts or what?

Would not be nuts if you aim for a Z3M or the Z4M, both becoming collectors items!!
