Sounds like a good deal. You could possibly try to squeeze another $250 out.

With a broker having their fee built in, not going to happen. However that $250 is probably money well spent since they did all the heavy lifting.

It's a good point, money well spent. She even seemed a little blindsided by how tight the dealers were with the 340i. She said she might let it sit a few days while she checked around with other dealers, but I'd be comfortable with that offer.

On the other hand, I don't need the car until mid-December, so she said we could also sit on it another month or so to see if inventory frees up.

Thanks for the feedback!

I am getting $1200 over from a broker and that is only after they discounted their fee. 340i will be in tight supply for the first few months although dealers have already put some orders in for demo cars.

Looks like a decent deal. I'm guessing residual of 61%?!

It is my understanding that M cars do come out of dealer allocation (and are harder to get a cracking ED price on), but that the rest does not come out of dealer allocation.

Selling price (with doc fee) seems to be right on the money. However, I did come across a July 2015 lease sheet that has 2015 M4 residuals at 59, 61 and 62. Sounds to me like you're inches away from a M4!

It sounds highly unfavorable with huge dealer profit.
Euro invoice, depending on options, is around 86-87% of US MSRP.
To calculate Euro invoice: .93*Base Euro ($37,110 for 328d) + .91*Options US MSRP + $995 D&H. Typical euro selling price is about 500-1000 above that.
Current Euro MF is .0016.
Based on .88*46540, 59% RV and .0016 MF, monthly should be around $515-525/month with just under $2K due at signing with no down payment. Extra security deposits can bring the MF down to .00111 (7xMSD) and $480-490/month.

Thanks argh. This is my first lease, so I'm playing around with the Excel calculator from Page #1 of this thread, as well as entering data from the dealer I've received so far.

I've pretty much decided against the MSD as I'd rather have the cash liquid, unless there is another reason I'm missing.

Also, I don't think we have the August Residuals, the 59% may be a guess from July 2015.

Does the dealer have leeway to jack MF up to a limit? I was under the impression it would be 0.0016 as well. Why would he do 0.0018?

Depending on the amount being financed via the lease, the extra MSDs can amount to $40-$60 per month which is a pretty substantial savings with the only penalty being tying up a modest amount of capital in the lease until it is concluded.

If the same amount of money that is put into MSDs were invested in a low cost mutual fund it would typically only return around 1/2 of what the MSDs save you and with the MSDs it is a guaranteed thing.

If I decide to do MSD, what happens to the MSD at the end of the lease period? Stupid question, but I would hope I'd just get that handed over to me in a check, or somehow applied (rolled over again) to the next lease?

If you do a back to back lease the MSDs and original security deposit can be rolled directly into the new lease.

If you do anything else then BMW financial services would be cutting you a check about 30 days after the lease is concluded.

I would not put all of my liquid cash into MSDs but if you have enough liquidity to do it, MSDs are definitely the way to go.

Thanks VOIP-Ninja!

Do you know of any good salespeople in the Philadelphia area? I'd even consider NJ and DE, believe they are ok since I want to do Euro Delivery.

Nope, I am in the mid-west. However there are literally hundreds of dealers within driving distance of where you are located. Just start emailing the internet person at dealers near you and see what can be done.

If you are doing ED you might even be able to have one of the site sponsors hook you up with a great deal on your car pickup. I believe that when the car is re-delivered into the US it can be delivered at any dealership, even one you didn't get it from.

My dealer lets me pay a substantial amount of cash due at lease signing via credit card so I pay the MSD's and let BMW FS refund the prior lease MSD's; that way I get points

Thanks again.

How can I find a "board sponsor" in my area or even a broker to help? Should I post over at the Ask-A-Dealer section for this?

Help guys..

I'm doing a deal on the phone right now (phone tag) and they are giving me the .0017 quote!

They claim it is a "regional" thing. They are in AZ. Is this BS?

Isn't it .00128 everywhere in US for top tier?

TIA

I would guess it's more of a local thing: just that dealership. Any US dealership can try to mark-up to a max of .0017, but with top tier credit you should get .00128.

Thumbs up

OK. Thanks.

It's a battle of wills right now. They called back with .0015.

It's all so dumb... I have to haggle almost every step of the way even though they know I know all the numbers and how they work together (thank you spreadsheet author).
