Retrofit instrument panel cover

Has anyone here tried to replace the standard instrument panel cover with either of th upgraded ones that came with the sport or x-line package in 2015? I've found the part number in realoem- it's only about $100, but I don't know how easy it is to swap.

I've been wanting to...I've seen instructions somewhere and it isn't that hard. What part did you find?

Here's the part number for the Sport line Instrument Panel Cover from real OEM: 51459323662

ECS tuning has that part for $108.87. Can you point me towards instructions for installation? It looks like there are two exposed screws in the instrument panel, and then I would guess clips back towards the dash. If it's as simple as unscrewing and prying it out, I'd love to get one of the nicer ones.

For 2015, the cars with x line, sport line, and m sport have a leather covered instrument cover with stitching. It looks a bit nicer. It's one less hard surface in the dash.

Thanks for the pics- I've been going off of BMWUSA CPO listings, but there are only like 20 cars in the whole country that have one of these packages. I'd love to see what the Msport ones look like too, but have not been able to find one.

Anyway, for $100, this feels like a really cheap and fun mod if we can figure out how to get the cover off easily.

I loved the examples with the color keyed contrast stitch. It was a crappy picture, but I found an example with red stitching w/ coral red interior (same as mine).

That's the sport line one, I believe. I've got the base interior, so that's the one I would go with.

Oh, man. I want that, bad.
But I'm having trouble finding anyone that sells them with pictures.
Even on Turner and ECS, they don't have photos. This makes me worry that they would send the old plastic one.
Plus, we have the sand beige interior. I assume they did not make a version with beige stitching. I'd be fine with black leather though, if that's all there is.

If someone gets one, please post some pics!

Looks like too much work to get to the scoop. You have to remove the instrument panel trim first to get to the scoop, which has 4 screws underneath.

That...looks like more trouble than it's worth. I'd love to hear if anyone attempts it. I was hoping it snapped into place given the gap around the cover.

You can still do the "mod" that Aerospike posted above. It doesn't require you to remove things, you're just sticking the cover over the existing scoop. May not be as authentic as the real thing, but it does look good.
