X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

2011 BMW X6 35i non CPO

Need some feed back. I recently purchased a BMW X6 35i with 51k miles on it. I brought it without getting it inspected by BMW service or any mechanic I know!! not smart. So far I haven't had any problems. The car fax stated it had 1 owner, who traded it in to a BMW dealership. I paid 37k. I was wondering why the dealer didn't make it a CPO and now I worried that it may have issues in the future. Can anyone give me some clarity or opinion on this. I have to admit it was an impulse buy. I've been wanting this car since it's introduction in 2008. Thanks.

It can't be CPOed, cause it over the 50k-miles. CPOed car has to be <4yr old and <50k-miles, no accident (or at least minor only accident) at the time it's certified.
Congrats, I wanted mine since 2009, just picked up a 2011 50i myself 2-wk ago.

I got very good deal, $43k for 2011 50i with 43k miles, original waranty until Sept 2014.
The car is loaded(adaptive susp, cooling perforated leather, HUD, even massage seat for driver), which I prefer not, less option means less things that can break; but you are right selection slim so you have to be less choosy.

The car is mechanically good, never been in an accident, but the paint is beat up and it's a smoker car so I had to do alot of cleaning/scrubbing/polishing to bring it back to decent.

The prices on the used X6's are insane in my area. Our local dealer has a black 08 with 89k miles for $33k. Savior you can add the extended warranty to the vehicle as long as the mileage isn't above 60k!

Thanks. I purchased one with the car. I took it to the dealership this weekend. They said aside from replacing the rear tires, the car is in perfect running condition. What a relief!!!! Lol

I bought a 2011 X6 35i today with 42K mikes from a co-worker. It is one owner and been serviced regularly by bmw dealership. The reason I bought it since I know it's been cared for and no accidents. After reading issues that people have experienced with their X6 on the forum I'm not too confident about long term ownership. The car is in great condition and will enjoy it and don't want to worry what issues may arise over time. I planned to do the normal maintenance myself and hope nothing major will happen with the turbo parts and engine.

From what I've read, you're in luck with the N55. And again, from what I've read, BMW can't build a reliable V8.

We've had coil packs replaced under warranty on our 2012, and other relatively minor stuff like oil filter housing gasket and front strut bushings so far at 45k miles.
Comparatively, my 07' FJ Cruiser with 127k miles has had NOTHING go wrong with it.

We also own a MB BT as well, another learning experience. $5k in repairs just before the warranty ran out at 20k miles.
Both vehicles are our first and last German vehicles. Next ones will be American or Japanese.

I plan to keep the 2011 X6 35i as long as I can. Can anyone tell me where to get a good after market warranty or from BMW.
