X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

With all the pertinent info you've posted (year, engine etc), it's so easy to recommend a particular model

If you have an AGM battery, that's important to know. I personally use the Battery Minder 2012AGM on both our X6 in Florida and our ML350 in Montreal, and a regular 2012 for the FJ

2A is an INADEQUATE battery charger for a 100 AH battery.

”Constant Current (sometimes called Bulk) is the main charging stage. The charger puts out a constant current of 2A,”

2A will take more than fifty hours to fully charge a dead 100 AH battery.

He never mentioned a dead battery. He asked for recommendations for an automatic charger, which gave me the impression he wants a charger that will charge/maintain a battery.

I like my BMW (branded) 4 amp tender/maintainer...which will charge a flooded (wet cell) AGM, or Lithium battery. The latest design looks like the Ctek brand that many mention and recommend. But there's still some of the older designs still being sold (for approx between $50 - $100) if you watch eBay & Amazon. The 11 digit BMW part nbr for the one I'm referring to (that will also charge a Lithium battery) is 82 11 0 049 788...see pics below:
