X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

How long did it take to get your N63?

I've had my car on a lift for a month. Just confirmed that I am first on the list at the dealership it was ordered through. After speaking to some people I know (local BMW service and parts managers) it sounds like 7 to 10 weeks has been average lately. I know many of you waited several months before the Bang settlement.

So how long did you wait / have you been waiting??

DONE!!!!

Car died 3/3/19. Order was placed 3/14 from Bimmerzone. I was first in line at Faulkner BMW for an N63TU. Motor arrived 4/26. Installed by 5/3, then I left for vacation with several errors present. Came home last Sunday and got rid of my last error today.

Note - The cam followers are not installed in the new short block! You need to take the old one and install them in the new motor. This knowledge would have saved me a week of hassle and stress. The guy at the dealership parts counter this morning told me that they have had mechanics do the same thing, so I guess I don't feel too bad about it. Just happy to have my X6 back!

Let me know if I can help, I did about 70% of this job myself.
