2005 X5 Missing Rear Brake Sensor

Hello,
I purchased my X5 and the red brake light was on. Previous owner told me it was just a sensor.

I found it was missing the brake sensor on the driver side rear brake. I purchased a new sensor and when I went to put it on I found that the white harness that it connects to that is housed inside a plastic box was missing with no wires coming down from the wheelwell.

The other side has the connecter in the box with a yellow and black wire going up through the wheelwell.

Can anyone tell me where this connects and what part I would need to complete the connections ?
thanks much...

05 X5. Sensors go to right rear and left front. Only. The light comes on when the circuit is broken. So if no sensor is installed, you will get a light. The sensor has a continuous circuit until it is worn through and the circuit is no longer complete.

Ratchitjaw,

Unfortunately sensor connections get old and brittle on these vehicles. Since I know my X5 so well, I actually just connect the wires together above the sensor and the light is gone. This DOES mean that you have to be aware of the condition of your brake pads, but since I do my own maintenance, not a bother.

Good luck.

Rickster
