X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

Just bought an X6

I just bought a 2009 X6 xDrive50i. The following things were done in December 2018:

New Front Tires
New Injectors
New Spark Plugs
New Valves
New Gaskets
New Vent Pipes
New Exhaust Manifold/Cylinder
New Turbochargers and Oil Return Lines
New Valve Stem Heads
Clean Air Pipes & Underbody Paneling

Basically this was all done due to the BANG VS BMW class action lawsuit settlement. The engine was basically replaced along with the things I just listed. All of the work was done at Fields BMW in Florida. Since that work was done, 70 miles were put on the vehicle and I just bought it. All of the work was done under warranty (the seller had good friends at the dealership) and I have all of the paperwork.

What do I need to be on the lookout for? Anything at all considering all of the work that was just done? I also have an extended warranty the seller purchased 3 years ago that's good for 14 more months!!

Finally...I want to change the mufflers to get a more aggressive sound. Can you point me in the right direction?

Sooooo....mufflers....

I know I'm single in/out, but I need to know diameters and offsets. I've called muffler shops and they have no clue.

LOL, I think it's just that most of the owners here don't mod their rides. I know that over on the MB site, it seems to be downright sacrilegious to do so.

I think your best bet is to find a distributor of BMW performance parts, pretty sure they can help you out.

You're Beautiful. I love you. Now change was a comedy movie.

If you wanted a VTEC Honda then you should'a bought one, and used the money saved on decals, exhaust tips, and subwoofers.

That's not fair Doug. He wants a throatier exhaust, you've just painted him as a economy ricer.
Definitely not one of your classier posts...

The N63 is a twin-turbo and I believe that even with no mufflers it will not sound aggressively 'throaty'.

Better right than nice. (Notice the sly double entendre. Heh heh heh.)
