E60 transmission vin recoding

Has anyone seen an issue with the 2007 E60 transmission causing a service engine soon due to wrong VIN being programmed? I recently replaced the transmission and now have a service engine light and am being told it's due to a used transmission with a VIN that doesn't match the vehicle thanks

What are the stored fault codes?
Was the replacement transmission programmed correctly to match the car?

Apparently the transmission wasn't even programmed at all as it still has the original vin number programmed The mechanic told me that it wasn't communicating with the vehicle main computer and that's why the service engine soon light was illuminated as shift point were not ideal for the emissions to be reduced. The car seems to run just fine. No issues at all

hard to say without any fault report...
I would try to reprogram the transmission control unit to match the car. in case there is a communication problem, this needs to get fixed first as otherwise programming is not possible.

First prepare NCSexpert, winkfp and INPA Laying around your laptop.

Those three all the one that is required for coding and flashing your EGS transmission module

Thanks for your help. The original code was a p1429 and on the printout under transmission management (EGS/SMG) (gs19b) CF2B. No message ,receiver EGS, transmitter LDM. 1 fault
Under controller (E2C7) it indicates K-CAN communication fault.
