You have two ICM CAFD's:

ICM_QL
ICM_V

You are looking in ICM_V, but you should be looking in ICM_QL.

You're right! I have found it. In my version (I-Stufe F010-13-03-504 with PSdZData 49.3) they have renamed the setting to: HcSwcCPar_i_Hc2_Aktiv_v_low. I have tried 25km/h but it gave an error when I exceeded 25 km/h. I switched to 30 km/h now and it seem to work. Thanks a lot.

I have coded this a few weeks ago and it works great. I updated the value to "25km/h" and my car now says "System Available After 17mph". All has been working great.. this was always annoying me, happy to have this system working at slow speeds.

Thanks for the new code. I plan on trying NV soon on my '13 F10 M5. Whats next??

Has anyone found the same thing for lane departure warning?

Thanks

This has saved me on a quite a few occasions from changing lanes at the wrong time.

Before you change lanes after setting the turn signal, the system issues a warning when there is a car close behind. The lamp in the housing of the exterior mirror flashes and the steering wheel vibrates.

One minor issue I have with this system is that it only is active at speeds above 30 mph/50 km/h. You can change that by adjusting the following code:

ICM->3000 Daten, F8->Hc2_i_CPar_Aktiv_v_low-> 25 kmh (the default is 50 km/h)

For the F10 (and the F06-thanks to djsaad1 for the information) this will set your system to show alarms at 17 mph/25km/h. Setting anything below 25 km/h in the F10/F06 WILL result in a system error after you start driving, so I do not recommend selecting anything less than that.

When you turn on the system, the instrument cluster will show the new speed above which active blind warnings can be issued:

Attachment 361355

You can now receive warnings at lower speeds than the default.

Notes:

1) Any errors/or malfunctions will clear up after a complete car shutdown.

2) Again, settings below 25 km/h will results in system errors once you start driving.

Many thanks to Sean and to djsaad1 for their help and testing. None of these code changes are possible without the resources, tools and advice provided by Shawn, Sean and others.

Thanks, JEG23, I've been wanting something like this! Somehow I missed this thread in my original round of coding. Glad it came up again.

For the record, this is the name on the F06 (and presumably F12/13 as well). If someone could put a note to this effect in the F10 cheat sheet it might save some confusion down the road for M5 and 6-series owners.

One more note: I didn't see anyone else mention this, but I had to turn the blind spot warning off and back on. After coding this and cycling the ignition, the LED was in indicating blind spot warning was active, but it was not working at ANY speed. Once I turned it off and back on I got the message on my screen about activating at 17mph, and it then worked at that speed and above.

That question has been asked many, many times on various threads here. The consensus is that it's highly unlikely, and I'm not aware of it ever happening. If you're worried about it, the coding can be undone before you take the car in.

I think this is one of those things that BMW can't officially endorse for fear of legal repercussions, but unofficially why would they really care? So many of these things are country-specific things, like the legal disclaimers for the nav system, etc. If the customer wants those disabled, that's good for BMW if there's a way to do that. But if they officially endorsed it, or allowed their dealers to do it, they'd be in violation of certain countries' laws. This way, everyone's happy.

I was coding a very nicely equipped 2014 535i LCI this morning and the ICM module had nothing close to Hc2_i_CPar_Aktiv_v_low. I checked several other modules and found nothing similar.

Has anyone else tried to do this code in an LCI?

I can't find HcSwCPar_i_Hc2_Aktiv_v_low in my ICMQL CAFD. What is the name of your CAFD file?

Coded a 2014 650i today. Found the setting here:

ICM => 3000 => C_ZSW_AKTIVIERUNGGESCHWINDIGKEIT_FUNKTION_LOW =>20kmh (default was 50)

I found the easiest way to find this was to search for the number "50" as that seems to be the default and it only had one instance under this setting. Translated, its like Rail speed or something of that sort. Seemed like a decent match and verified working by owner.

Basic Intructions

Hello,

I am a newbie to this and am again a BMW owner. To my dismay, the BSD only activates above 30 MPH, which makes no sense to me.

Can someone post step-by-step instructions on how to program the activation speed to a lower value? Which cable do I need? Do I use a laptop?

Thanks a bunch!

Was coding a couple of things on my F13 640i, and now I notice that the BSD doesn't work. I think trying to get the High-Beam Assist (I wanted to get the light tunneling to work, which it doesn't), or trying to get rear camera to work at any speed (also didn't get it to work) I did something which disabled the BSD.

Can someone tell me what I need to look at to get it to work again?

Make sure you press the bsd button near your left leg. That happened to one person I coded and they forgot that there's a button to enable and disable it. After coding it sometimes turns it off.

Is there a separate button for BSD? I thought the lane change assist button enables both?
