@tokenmaster, your Mailbox is full.

is it possible with this tool to see the fdl coding data for a Special retrofit? it would be great to see what modules and coding values are affected by adding a SALAPA element.

I purposely stayed away. I am disgusted with what's happening lately in the forum. People openly and blatantly trying to rip my work. Scumbags.

@TSTE1982 -that's what SVT-CAFD does.

This tool is wunderbar! :-)

In the NCD comparison panel on the left, where it compares the NCD to the default values, it would be great if there was an option to compare it to the VO version (instead of to the default values). Do I make sense? You'd specify a FA (VO) and it would calculate what the NCD of that would be and compare the NCD you specify to that. In theory, on a new vehicle it should find no difference between those NCD calculated from the VO and the NCD loaded from the car.

I think this can be done (tediously) already, by looking at the VO and checking all the corresponding options in the What-if panel.

In any case, thank you for making this tool available for free.

hy TokenMaster,

Just a suggestion : in NCD Compare module, you should add a "save as" function in the compare result windows.

Very useful tool :-)

The What-If panel is supposed to do all those. The NCD Comparison panel is only meant to compare between NCD files. VO is not the only thing that affects CAF generation, so it's quite a challenge to add those features.

I'm not too happy with the result window. It's just a rudimentary way of showing the differences, so I didn't spend too much time on it

You can do Right-click, then select all (not sure if CTRL+A works) > Ctrl+C, then CTRL+V on Notepad.

This is a direct drop-in replacement. If you have customized settings, just replace the executable and DLL to keep your settings intact. Settings are kept in NcdCafdTool.exe.Config file.

As always, this tool is free. Never pay anything for this tool.

Rename to .zip NcdCafdTool_V0.2.8.zip.pdf

Thank you!

One remark ;-)
With 0.2.8 Symantec Antivirus detects ncCafdLib.dll as possible virus (http://securityresponse.symantec.com...2-99&vid=42293).

May be you will have some ideas how to make file more "trustable" for anti-virus software )))

Thanks!

Or Symantec need to get their act together and come up with a more stringent QA. I wonder how it's tagged as such when there isn't even a reference to Windows sockets/TCPIP. Anyway, you should submit it for their analysis: https://submit.symantec.com/false_positive/

Here's the analysis for NcCafdLib.dll: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/8...is/1417020510/

Chetan, thanks for the reply. I work in the very same industry so I know the drill. It's important to note that I didn't have to do this with Trend Micro, McAfee, Microsoft, Kaspersky, F-Secure and even the smaller AV makers. I do have issues when you create a white-list and treat everything not in the list as rouge app. There's obviously something wrong with your heuristic detection algorithm that tags the app, especially with one which it has nothing to do with.

I guess I'm a little bit tick off because this reminds me of a bank client which treats each and every outside email as spam, even the ones that provide cloud services for them. My blood boils every time an exec says "I didn't receive your email" and I have to remind them to check their junk mail. Spam detection and DLP fail! And the kicker is that they think SSL is their ultimate defense against hacking. Talk about major re-schooling.

Try the latest version. In settings, i change the PSdZ location to my Z: drive (it's a shared VMware fusion drive). I was able to save it without the tool complaining about PSdZ.

I then went to NCD Compare, tried to open a NCD file but getting this error:

Unable to find corresponding CAFD for 'Z:\downloads\bmw\CAF_20140102\CAFD_00000794_007_0 29_103.ncd'
Check your PSdZ location and version

I have version 54.1 of PSdZdata and version 26.0 of E-Sys, running on Windows Vista.

It can't find CAFD_00000794.caf.007_029_103. Reconfigure and point to where your PSdZdata folder is.

I guess i am not understanding why the tool is not finding the CAFD_00000794.caf.007_029_103.ncd file. This is one of the files i am trying to compare.

This is my settings for your tool:

One of the NCD files that i am trying to compare is located in Z:\Downloads\BMW\ESysData\CAF. The PSDdZdata folder is Z:\Downloads\BMW\ESysData\psdzdata.

When i open a NCD file for comparison, the open dialog defaults to c: drive. Could this be the problem, that it's expecting all the files to reside in C:\ESysData\CAF?

The interesting thing is if i try to open CAFD instead of NCD, and i specify the location as Z:\Downloads\BMW\ESysData\psdzdata\swe\cafd, the tool has no problem opening the file.

What's your PSdZdata version? Do you have the following file: Z:\Downloads\BMW\ESysData\psdzdata\swe\cafd\CAFD_0 0000794.caf.007_029_103? Open Notepad and see if you can open Z:\Downloads\BMW\ESysData\psdzdata\swe\cafd\CAFD_0 0000794.caf.007_029_103

I have version 54.1 of PSdZdata.

That file exists in Z:\Downloads\BMW\ESysData\psdzdata\swe\cafd. I can open it with notepad.
