Life Cycle Impulses. Basically a mid-life refresh and minor upgrades.

Well for BMW to get a new price, they need to do LCIs. Simple trick all companies do.

LCI is based upon the premise that change=progress=ability to charge the consumer more. In my opinion, a significant LCI would involve a powerplant upgrade that affects performance. I have to admit that an I-drive upgrade in my F80 would be nice.

Thanks All!

So, then based on the above, the LCI for the car seats -- for example -- are only available on the M3 Sedan and not on the M4 Convertible?

What does P1 option mean for SO? How hard can it be to mix that color paint? This aint the dark ages where purple was a rare color (hard to make) so a sign of royalty....

Is SO an option for m3?

When can you order online?

I think LCI is based on the premise that 6 years without updates is bad for business when your competition came out with a new model. Basically, LCI is made to help keep potential buyers from going to Merc or Audi. In this day and age, 6 months, let alone 6 years is a long time for no technology upgrades.

I hope, but highly doubt that over the Ir map updates= update from your home wifi

Official Details: 2016 Changes for the BMW F80 M3, F82 M4 Coupe and F83 Conve...

M3 just widened the gap in appeal over the M4, imo. Too bad it's about impossible to find an M3 on lots while M4's are more readily available. Though that does give the M3 even more of a special and vaunted aura.

If the way it is shown is correct, I would agree. It just doesn't make sense that the M3 would get faster navigation hardware, for example, while leaving the M4 out.

P1 simply means that you have to order your car to get Sakhir Orange. Should not be an issue for you since you want to do ED.

I doubt the nav differences are that great. People are going to buy the M3 because they want a sedan and M4 because they want a coupe. The minor differences will make no difference to 95% of the buyers IMHO. Even if I waited for a 2016, I would still have declined the M3 because I prefer coupes. The minor M3 improvements would not motivate me to a sedan that I don't want.

Correct. The LCI updates for the M4 will come next year.

Have you written a review or feelings on your two cars and how they compare to each other, anywhere? Although that M6 is gonna be a portly beast being especially a vert, I imagine it's at a strong disadvantage in the handling dept (which is something I'm also curious of from one who know firsthand), but wondering how the M4 experience feels in comparison.

"Life Cycle Impulses" ... ...

These press releases are so full of marketing BS and gobbledy goo, I can't read them any more.

I have done some tidbit comparisons on both vehicles in another thread. I think the M6 is too big, even though my wife disagrees. I'm used to the size of the M4 because it was comparable to my E39 M5.

Power wise, no comparison. The M6 is chipped and puts down 680 HP at the crank. The M6 has a DCT, MY M4 is a 6MT. The M4 is a dream to take corners in, the M6 feels a little bloated compared to the M4.

It obviously has to do with the size of the M6 v. M4. I would get another M4 over an M6 any day. Of course, that's just my humble opinion.

I have to say that I agree. I contemplated an M5 ( not the same as M6, but close) and I felt the same way you do. The M4 hits the sweet spot and very much reminds me of the E39 M5 which was one of my favorite BMW's ever.

Question LCI Improved Child Seat handling

What does this mean?

"Improved Child Seat handling"
Referring to the driver's seat?

Seriously, though. Anyone know the "improvement"?
