NEW G11 2016 7 Series fully exposed

2016 BMW 7 series exposed

2016 BMW 7 Series fully exposed. Front end styling is a combination of the F30 and X5. Rear styling is clean and sleek with integrated exhaust outlets as seen on the test mules. Sporting optional laser headlights on this pre-production display model. LED lighting will be standard, with laser lighting as an optional upgrade.

The G11 next gen 7 series will be built on BMW's new module platform and feature the B family of engines. The chassis will borrow heavy from the BMW i3 and i8 for weight savings. The interior has the latest iDrive with a touch screen. The full details are expected to come out before the Geneva Auto show. In Geneva BMW will pull the wraps of this next gen 7 series officially.

Not liking the exterior compared to the F01, but I'll have to see the G11 in person.

I don't like color but I'm sure white or black would be much nicer

Trunk line looks almost as high as the Gt cars. Don't see anything that really impresses me a la the S500.

It's not bad we still need to see better pics, the interior looks way better IMO, like the contrast stiching.

But honestly Idk why BMW always is so conservative, they really could've flared up those fenders a little and added more curves, it looks too bland, esp that 4th pic showing a rear 3/4 shot.

Check out the 4 inch gap on front wheel well on first pic. I like the styling. Better than the other pics we've seen. ;-)

More chrome trim. Hmm. Doesn't look like too much departure from the current f01/f02. The hood and side curves along the handle. Inside, now there is actually a visible place to pull the door. More chrome colored panels and the pop up display like will get some use to.

The pictures are coming from autoweek.nl. Not sure why they have bimmerfest watermarks on them when these pictures are on several forums with autoweek watermarks.

BMW insiders have confirmed this is the indeed real deal. Can't say I'm impressed...

Its basically a facelifted 7. I say epic fail. new s550 is a lot better looking.

eh, could be worse. at least it looks more like an x5 than a 3 series. the worst part about the s class is that it looks exactly like an enlarged C class. at the moment i'd still hand it to the s in terms of looks though.

I see many cue from the F15 X5. Perhaps the shipping blocks are still in the suspension and that is why we see so much wheel gap? I'll save judgment until we know what kind of tech this new 7 is carrying.

No way this can dethrone the S-class.

The s550 (14'+) AMG sport still looks better. Unless this thing can drive itself from point A to point B, this 7er was not made for the US market in terms of looks or technology. There's always the M sport version.

It's exactly like the camouflaged car, so quite predictable.
Unfortunately that is the same with the dash/nav.
It will be lighter but still much too evolutionary (and bland) to me.

MB designs their cars from the top down, BMW from the middle up (aka 5 series). I feel they look at the 7 almost as an afterthought which is very disappointing.

good thing I didnt wait for this it might look better in real life, but it doesnt have the "style" which the F01/F02 had when it came out years ago which eventually trickled to lower bmw models. this new 7 looks like a combination of all styling elements of lesser bmw models--a complete reversal of what should have been for a flagship. I am disappointed with it at this point.

I flat out don't like it. It doesn't speak "Executive" status AT ALL! Sometimes, you can try so hard that you fail. This is a clear example. I will continue to drive my 2012 M Sport 7 for the next 15 years before buying that.

I'd call that a major fail. Almost indiscernible from the current model. The interior is terrible. At least the discounts will be fantastic...

At least they upped the game on the steering wheel airbag cover. Makes me wonder how much more the cost rises on an impact when all of the airbags go off in these Individual optioned models, where the entire interior is leather wrapped. Probably takes you a few hundred dollars per airbag closer to a total loss when they fire and tear through the leather.

I guess they had to up the game somewhere.

Looks more like a refresh than a new design,
after you buy it maybe they will give you a big sign to put on it to let people know it is the new model.
