So, is it worth losing 1 year warranty and get the updated iDrive 5.0 for the net decrease of $1350 ? Or is it still better to order a new 2016 X3 xDrive35i to get the 4years maintenance program ?

And the Custom build in the BMW website is still not showing the 2017 X3 models. When can we have that ?

Are you getting the leather, if so, there is no "net decrease". The warranty is the same, but the maintenance is reduced by 1 year, and what's included in that is reduced.

Having said all of that, I don't think you can order 2016, aren't 2017s in production already.

Yes, I'm planning to go with leather. So, is it worth going for 2017 model by losing 1 year maintenance or with 2016 model ? Howmuch the 1 year maintenance costs ?

I'm seeing the custom build for BMW X3 xDrive35i in their website is still building the 2016 model. If they can't manufacture the 2016 vehicle now, I have to go with the 2017 model.

MY 17 started production this month. No more custom 2016, you have to pick from what is on the ground...

Just picked up new 2017 X3 sDrive 28, basically fully loaded. Does anyone have experience with the navigation not being loaded at the factory? When you hit the NAV or MAP buttons, it says that it needs a USB Key. The dealer said they would call BMW Monday to figure it out, but just wondered if anyone here had experience.

If it isn't listed, which I don't see it, then you should assume not.

Help

I pulled the 2016 order guide to review the build on a x3 28i Im considering. The dealer is saying it has an executive package and a premium package enhanced. Neither of which are on the order sheet. Any ideas of what they represent?

They represent the dealer not knowing what he's talking about. Is it a 2016 on the lot new? If so ask for the Monroney sticker to figure out exactly what is on the car.

I think they represent the dealer packaging items together and pretending it is the factory to up the price with unwanted options. Yes it is brand new. thanks for the quick response.

Check the VIN number here and it will tell you all about the car.

I missed the whole Canada part of this. Sorry.

Do Canadian cars have VINs? If so, has anyone run one through the website referenced?

Every car has VINs these days. The VIN decoder should work just fine.

canadian

Yes it is Canadian and the site does work (very well). it is really odd that BMW.ca doesn't relect the options. Generally executive is heated rear seats, universal remote, led and lumbar. Premium plus adds nav heads up and a few more things to the essential premium package. Never been on this site before but it is very helpful.

BMW has released Premium Package 3 & Cold Weather Package 2 for the X3 as of December 2016 production. The pricing and ordering guides have been updated to reflect these changes.

There might have been but it is no longer listed on the pricing/ordering guides.

AWD vs. 2WD in SoCal

I've just sold my Audi A3 AWD 3.0 station wagon. I loved the road hugging driving experience on winding narrow roads in the mountains. We don't get snow. I need to switch to a X3 because of dog/bike etc. Is it worth it to pay for AWD in this SoCal driving condition? What features do you Bimmer drivers think are really worth it?
