New product from BMS... :)

Hey guys, I had to order a clutch delay valve for a customer and figured since I'm getting one I might as well get 50. So BMS is now in the modified CDV business!

Sure you can modify your own, but if you need a spare or don't want to mess with it, we're selling them for $26 shipped. Be sure to post the news on all of your favorite forums!

PS. This is a must do mod for any manual transmission. Really improves the clutch feel.

What exactly does it change? I've read about it smoothing out the 1-2 shift assuming you can drive in the 1st place, but how does it work?

Basically the factory valve dampens the clutch line a bit with a restrictor hole, so when you press the pedal there is a delay before the slave cylinder engages. I think BMW did it to preserve their drive train from really harsh shifts to reduce warranty claims. Our valve removes this restrictor and allows faster engagement.

It was a really common mod years ago when I had an e39 and was on that board. I'm surprised there is not more discussion about it on the 3 series boards.
