After salivating over X6's for about 7 years now. I finally pulled the trigger on an X6 - and I didn't pull any punches.

I went whole hog and got the X6 M.

2016
Black Sapphire Metallic
Aragon brown leather
Driver Asst Plus
Exec Package
Parking Asst
Bang & Olufsen sound

This wasn't a custom order, so I didn't get to choose options - If I had, I probably wouldn't have added the B&O sound. $3700 is stupidly overpriced for that feature.

Anyway - the damage was 113 before taxes/title/license/warranty additions (got the wheel protection, ding repair, and front plastic covering). I probably overpaid, but /meh.

Driving it:
I came from a 2007 CR-V. lol. So ya, this is a setup up - about 100 steps up.

Here are my initial impressions:

Pros:
- It's a total beast and looks bad as hell.
- It handles like a freaking indy car.
- Features out the wazoo. (ie AC-cooled console/cup holders - they thought of everything)
- Great control over the feel / responsiveness of the engine / steering. I don't really notice a big difference in suspension between sport and comfort. Maybe I'm just not trained to notice.
- Very comfortable to drive long distances. Ventilated seats are brilliant.
- Did I mention it looks bad as hell?
- Everything

Cons:
- Price, but I knew this going in, so that's not really a valid con.
- Gas mileage - but again, I knew what I was getting into. A 22 gallon tank (vs my CR-V 14 gal) alleviates the feeling that my tank is running dry faster.
- Parking - not because its hard to park (it's easy to park), but I'm kind of forced to find distance/open corner spots so some ********* doesn't ding me lol.
- The nav system is kludgy and not the most intuitive. I've had some difficulty finding common places like the movie theater, even when I know/search for it by name. I could use the concierge service, but that's kinda "for really important things only" in my book. I also think the zoom-in zoom-out increment too much. One level will be too close, the next level zoom-out will seem too far. Should be more granular.
- Bang & O sound options only have "studio" and "expanded" - how about "none"? I don't need any fancy sound tricks applied to my music.

Anyway, very small cons, about 2 real gripes in a feature set of hundreds of things.

I'm hurrying to 1200 miles to get the maintenance accomplished. Trying to keep it under 5k rpm (emphasis on the word "try"). With that said, I notice some rattling underneath the car on a 3-4k rpm down-rev while parked. Other than that, this car is flawless. I'll see if they can find the noise when I take it in for the 1200 break-in maintenance.

Mein Auto: 2015 X5M
Congrats

My 2015 X5M is optioned the same just different color combo.

As for the break-in service when I hit around 900 miles I was speaking to my SA to schedule on for a week or two down the road and he asked me if "tomorrow" was convenient for me and I said YES as long as they had a loaner for me.

Now where are the pictures?
