Does Crank Pull Need to be Removed To Replace Waterpump on 1994 BMW 840Ci?

Just like the Subject reads! I am replacing the Waterpump on.my 1994 BMW 840ci.
Does Crank Pull Need to be Removed To Replace Waterpump on 1994 BMW 840Ci?

There is one 10mm at the bottom of tbe Waterpump behind the main Crank pulley that you cannot get to without removing the Crank Pulley. You can get a 10mm wrench on the bolt head! But you can't really get it out! And definitely can't get it back in once you are inst6the new Waterpump!

Does not make sense to have to remove the Crank pulley to remove screw!

Any ideas!
