I know. I've heard this "fix" usually lasts 6-12 months. I applied a clear coat so I'll see if that makes it last longer.

Few questions;

Can the GUIBO and CSB be checked without removing all the components, exhaust etc. I want to look at the two items to see their condition. Lately I've found my driveline seems to have a lot of slack in it..

The small transfer case plastic gear is it worthwhile to replace that preventatively?

You can unfasten the heat shields and bend them enough to check things out. The plastic gear isn't terribly hard to replace, but having it fail isn't particularly disabling, so I would just wait to it fail. It is probably worth having one on hand.

6 to 12 mos is about right I did mine about a week ago...turned out really nice...i keep looking at them...cant believe how well they turned out (used the same product) before that 12 mos I used the 3M stuff...it turned out ok. bottom line the more solar exposure the quicker that yellow tent returns.

I was just in there 4 weeks ago *rear drive shaft replacement. I took every thing out exhaust heatsheild rear drive shaft...and that too was my question should I replace the gear...after posing the question to the forum...i decided to leave it alone and change it when it fails and I got one (gear) in the trunk when it does.

Can you share the source with us where you purchased the gear ? I think its a good idea to have one on hand , for a quick repair when it strips out ..

Clear will probably help somewhat. I used a 3-step $20+ 3M kit on my daughterís 05 MB about six months ago and the result was awesome and they still look like brand new. Will be interesting to see how long that will last. Luckily she has parking under the building at her new apartment, so the Texas sun shouldn not be able to kill them too fast.

New front driveshaft

Just installed new front driveshaft. and new bolts. This is the first of the drivetrain reoairs I'll be doing. next week I'll change out f/r diff fluid, transfer case fluild. Maybee put servo gear in, not shure yet. Then rear driveshaft someday rebuild transfer case. Its got about 4 degrees of play in it.
My pocket book will have to take a rest before I do that job!

Gents, if I plan on replacing my eccentric shaft sensor I'll be doing the valve cover.

Anything else that should be replaced while there? I've already addressed the spark plugs.

My cart contains the following;

BMW Valvetronic Shaft Sensor Gasket
BMW Valvetronic Eccentric Shaft Sensor - VDO
BMW Eccentric Shaft Actuator Seal - Rein
BMW Valve Cover Gasket Set - Genuine BMW

Anything I may be missing?

Valvetronic/mechatronic (whatever it's called) motor seal (between coils 3 and 4).

Over 100k, I'd replace all coils rather than wait for a failure, but that's me.

I dunno, is it? Descriptions are suspect... I'm talking about the seal for the motor. If you have it,

I thought I'd share it here:

I checked my tire pressure today.

front 2.4bar
rear 2.2bar

I confirmed my theory - now both tires are at even height and the xdrive feels smoother.

Damage sensors & condenser :/

Shall we begin today on my way to work I hit a huge pothole
passing a construction ZONE it is GRIDLOCK hour so you have to be fast,
to swerve Downtown Brooklyn NYC this is very weird because I expected
for s strut or shock, even a bent rim but (NO) took it to my Mechanic
now my goddam A/C Condenser is leaking needs to be replaced
not to mention my upstream and downstream 02 oxygen sensors
are also faulty as well the story of my life... good day to you all.
