My life - bragging

For a couple of weeks now I have been aware that each ride may be the last for the season and the year. The previous ride, maybe Thursday, was right at peak Fall Colors. Today the colors are past peak and muted. It was a fine ride. This is my default route, 25 miles, with no loops and no out-and-back.

Just now there is a blast of gunfire as the mighty Bambi hunters are sighting in their shotguns.

Here in Floriduh, grocery stores sell bags of fall leaves. We're moving north next year. I'm looking forward to having falls again. I'm not looking forward to having winter again, though.

Kudos.

I'm a lifelong athlete and mere 67. I retired the 10 speed a couple of years ago and quit going on the roof to wash windows a year later. I don't trust my body enough to bite off the downside risk and I remember how Max McGee died. Deer gun season is nigh in WI, but I thought only the southwestern counties were shotgun only.

Here in Southern California the fall color is the same brown as it has been all dam summer. The days are getting shorter. I have a 50 mile loop of back road twisties and open rural hwy.
I have to start a couple hours earlier this time of year. Love the cooler weather and the Z4. I'll continue to enjoy the drives year round with occasional time-outs for epic rains and washed out pavement from my favorite back county roads.

Doug knows Charleston, SC. Here it just started to get down the the 70ís the past couple weeks. What a relief. Unfortunately the smells in the air and the wet leaves I grew up with in NJ will never be here for the fall/Halloween season.
