If it was a recall you were hoping for it would have been better to ask that in the 1st post. Recall informatiin is however easy to find with a quick search on the internet. Unfortunately recalls are written very specifically and a lot of people still get screwed, your option here sadly is just pay it.
So your comment about that electric vehicle being faster, I would say if that bothers you but you love the BMW than buy an M...but again you'll be dealing with expensive maintenance.
For those who can't DIY (or have deep pockets) I'd recommend something new with full warranty or something exceptionally reliable but cheap to fix when it does break. Typically people say Honda or Toyota but if I had to buy a Japanese car I'd go for Mazda, not as notably reliable but more fun to drive and better looking.

Just to set the record straight, yes you did have posts erased.

Unfortunately not. He says he will but he doesn't.

He does like to remind us though how he likes to drive 150mph and that he's "used to these speeds because he's a pilot" or some garbage like that.

Heck = German for "rear", as in "rear-wheel drive."

As for the rest...nonsense. BMW brakes work just fine from 150mph. No smoke, no fade, no drama. Relatively speaking, they're a lot more powerful than typical aircraft brakes (like those of any high-performance car). The stock pads will fade after multiple high-speed stops in quick succession, but you'll have plenty of warning.

If you're fond of driving at 150mph you might want to enroll in some high performance driving schools. You might be surprised to learn how many other misconceptions and bad habits you have.

This of course assumes they're well-maintained: OEM-or-better pads and rotors, fluid changed on schedule, yada yada yada.

If you own a BMW and want to enjoy it, you must get ready for DIY. You can buy the cheapest inpa cable for diagnosis. Buy Alldata/Mitchelle repair DIY. Then source your parts from rockauto.com

My Vin is WBADX1C55BE569780

My only BMW 335IS friend traded his in for a Tesla, which apparently has a 0-60 of 4 seconds which is .8 seconds faster than my and his old car, but that's a different story.

I like my car but I can't afford the part $680

whats funny is according to my friends vin his is replaceable

Also I had my charge pipe replaced by the dealer in 2016 and it appears to be failing too

They said they were able to fix my current the charge pipe ..... I think they were trying to f*c* me again ....but I mean the Vanos at 1K was cool but this HPFP at 680 plus 4 hrs labor I'm going to be funny here I'm gonna leave the car in a bad neighborhood with the keys in it, and I love this car.

Just Checking if anyone has any advice (PLEASE HELP MY CAR MAY DIE HERE)

Thanks

Hello Mark,
I figured I would bypass all the petty bickering n just respond to your first post.

If you have any mechanical ability at all, replacing the vanos's is very easy.
Parts can be had from FCP Euro for $152 each.
You can search you tube on how to replace them, it is very easy...
Good luck to you

fyi, I own a 2011 335ix, mine has the N55 engine, I believe your car has the N54.
It really is an easy task to replace the vanos.

Reread his post....he did the vanos but now needs a HPFP....hence the name of this thread.

Ahhhh
OK, my bad, I thought he needed both vanos and fuel pump.
The HPFP is a lot of money, over $500 for the part and not that difficult, just WAY MORE INVOLVED removing stuff then for the vanos ...
So I can see where he's upset.
Just seems he got attacked for asking advice.
I dont see a reason to attack him, if you do not like what he has to ask or say, just ignore it... pretty simple and it keeps the peace.

I'd be in on that, but, alas, the Mrs. wants a red one.

OP

Do you want the BMW community to fund your repair job?

I bought a used 5 year old 550i. In the following 2.5 years I bought the car over and over. Only original part on the drive train turbo's and transmission. Even the Radiators got replaced.
I also have a 09 35d X5. I just spent 2k on it
I have a 15 M4 had it 3 days then paid dealer $194 for fuse and OBDII port repair.

When you go into a BMW dealership and you see the sign that says this plant cost more to maintain then a new bmw. Its only for 3 years

Anyway best advice is spend the money on it then go get a warranty.
Carchex or something.

Given what you owe I think you have to fix it but you have to get it fixed cheaper as has been suggested. I think you would suffer more of a loss if you sold the car. I bought my 2008 4 years ago and have not been to a BMW service department since then.
Lastly if you don't feel something about driving a BMW that you have an affinity for that makes some of the burdens easier to deal with.
