DIY Replace Remove 6 CD/DVD Changer F01/F02
I hope this guide will help you get that in dash 6 DVD changer for repair/replacement
Result Removal of In-Dash 6 CD/DVD Changer on F01/F02 Tools Required Torx T10 and T20 bits Flat thin plastic interior removing tool (or simply a plastic card i.e. ATM Bank Card) Time Required 10 - 15 minutes Instructions It is always important to disconnect Car Battery when disconnecting Electrical Components from the car. 1. Push the Open Button to open CD/DVD Changer Decorative Cover Panel (i.e. wood trim) 2. There are two small rectangular covers on each side of the CD/DVD Changer (wasn't obvious until I looked very closely and felt the edges) --> using a plastic interior removing tool (or a plastic card), pry these plastic trims by starting from the bottom. It is latched on by a plastic latches on top and bottom (see pictures) 3. Once small covers are removed, you will see a screw on each side of the CD/DVD Changer, use a T20 bit to remove them. 4. You will need to remove the 'Decorative Cover Panel' to be able to pull the CD/DVD Changer out (DO NOT TRY to pull the changer out before removing the 'Decorative Cover Panel') To do so: looking 'Upward' under the decorative cover (more specifically where bottom aluminum strip is), you will see two x T10 Screws that hold the Cover to the plastic reclining mechanism --> remove these two screws completely. 5. Once two screws are removed, slide the decorative cover in the closed position and you will be able to remove the decorative panel by sliding it downward further towards you - it is simply latched on the plastic reclining mechanism by 3 tabs. 6. Once the Decor Panel is removed, Push the Cover Open button again for the reclining plastic mechanism to the 'Open Position' 7. Pull the CD/DVD Changer towards you and disconnect the Cable Adapter.
