I just realized tonight that apparently the 640 is no more. What a crime! I know, the GTs don't seem to match the "purist's" idea of a BMW, but to me, it was the perfect car. Well, a little long and pricey for my tastes. Actually, I was definitely going to order a 3GT about this time, but found out a couple months or so ago they weren't going to be made in 2020, and I want a bunch of options, so would have to order. Oh well, it seemed perfect: fairly compact car, good looks IMHO, peppy, very roomy back seat and trunk area, perfect! Oh well, that one's gone, so I looked at the 4 Gran Coupe; can't get into it. I'm as old as dirt, as they say in the south, and my back doesn't bend like it should. Which is why a standard 3-series wouldn't work. So, now looking at a 540ix, but /really/ wanted a hatchback. Took a look at the 6GT, and it seemed perfect, except for length and a bit pricier than I wanted. I made more room in the garage, rationalized the extra money with my wife, and now IT'S not available either!
What is this with BMW that every few years they make these fantastic models available, which no one apparently buys, and then in quits. I KNOW they'll come out with an equivalent next year, but I need one THIS year. Bah, humbug. I want my GT!
