Discounts on loaners

Hi,

I'm interested in leasing a X3 or X5 loaner. I was wondering what's the typical price to ask off MSRP if it's under MSRP, I was considering 20%?

Thanks!

I'd go lower. It also depends on how many miles the car has on it. My dealer seems to run loaners for 5k miles before selling/leasing them. Be careful about the incentive rules on buy/leasing a loaner. Those cars might not qualify for all the incentives that a new one does (USAA, BMWCCA, BMW FS, fleet discounts, etc.).

It's easy to get 10% off on a brand new BMW. The dealer gets a discount when they buy loaner vehicles. A new car typically depreciates 25% in the first year (~12k miles). Because they're luxury cars and are often highly discounted when sold new, BMW's usually depreciate more than 25% of MSRP in the first year.

IMHO MSRP on a "used car" [yes, a loaner is a used car - even if in the current model year] is irrelevant.
I'd check the used car price guides in Kelley Blue Book or Edmunds and in the "condition" section select the lowest category based on the loaner use category.

Sure would - IF you could get them. Have they changed how/if the general pubic was blocked from getting those or other auction sale prices?? In past years when I shopped for pre-owned cars I could ask a buddy in the car biz for Manheim numbers - but those guys have retired or died :-(
