I think you're onto something good there lincolnshibuya with a much better value option to the budget minded 330i owners looking for more speed. Those hard to come by hot rod dollars will go much further on a Crown Vic and can you image the fear in the guy who is currently a little faster, when you pull up in this?. You just won hands down and think of the savings.

The car alone has so much respect from many bimmer enthusiasts that you shouldn't care about power like the comments say above detail it, it doesn't matter that you live in a dusty city clean it every day grow a bond with the car instead of just using it to beat your friends car

Excellent point ! What some owners (and potential owners) tend to forget is that BMW`s 3-Series line has been in the Top Ten of most automotive magazines for 20 years !
As well as the fact that other manufacturers have used the 3-Series as their target benchmark when they design and build sporty sedans. There is a damn good reason for this !

In 20 years, you won't even remember the names of the guys that ragged on your car. Now is the time to realize that people that critize your car, clothes, hair, etc will always find something about you they don't like. I prefer to give people something to complain about that doesn't bother me when they do. That way, they don't find the things that really bother me.

BTW, my high school car had 65 hp and would barely do 80mph, headwind willing.

So.. Who can piss further contest? Your in Senior year.. Soon enough you won't be seeing those guys. Get into a good school, get a well paid job, buy a new Bimmer and tah-dah. All my high-school cool club promoters we're driving long before me. Now they all have Fords and Asian made boxes while I'm here with a V8 in my driveway. But new, but exactly what I want... With a house, wife, kid, dog, etc. You're in for the long haul buddy.. Look up ahead but down.

This one might be dead as OP apparently brushed advice given here aside and has moved on to other threads elsewhere continuing his quest for speed. I believe he was recently asking if headers he saw on eBay would fit his 328i. Are there anymore good entertainment threads? Because the "Hyundai G80 vs 5-Series" thread is about done now too.

A turbo will run 10K, this has been talked about so many times. It isn't the hardware that is complicated (well, it still sort of is), but it is the tuning.

So as it turns out my car already had 3.46 gears in it from the previous owner and I raced my friend and whooped him

Your friend must not know how to drive. I'm pretty sure a 3.46 differential will not compensate for a 32 HP and 23 lb-ft advantage.

Well. I used to click off 2.1second 0-60 with a 14b amd an exhaust... amd it did 30+ mph higher top speed than the 330 limiter will let him go. go buy a 14b and an exhaust and race him in the talon. Poor 330 won't even know what zapped him.

You have an m52... early 90s tech. He has an m54. 2000s tech. He has more displace, net and more efficient technology to control it. No danger to manifold warnings. You are not going to beat him, though you can probably fdrop a good chunk off your 0-60 by reducing the rotational mass by 5lbs a wheel by going back to 17s. Those 19s are like dragging an anchor.
