F80/F82/F83 M3 and M4 (2015 - Current)

M3 competition exhaust??

Is there any way to tell besides taking the car to the dealership whether my car has the competition exhaust or not? It does have black tailpipes on it but I know you can just put black/chrome/etc on any exhaust. The dealership I bought it from didn't know for sure. I ran the VIN and it doesn't show the car has the competition pack, but oddly enough it has several comp. pack options; the 20" 666m wheels, active m suspension, black front/side grills, black m3 logo on the rear, and then black tailpipes. Any advice is appreciated!

Hey,

The "Active M Suspension" is not a specific "Competition Package" item.

All the other bits you mentioned can be put on any M3, after the fact.

If your VIN Check doesn't show: "7MA/7MN" your car is Not a Competition Package vehicle.

Now, As with the other bits you mentioned, The "Competition Package" exhaust (different part #)
could've been purchased and installed after the fact also but, I truly don't see (cost!?!) a reason
as to WHY(?) anyone would do this.

This is what makes the "ZCP" such a deal. All the hardware bits purchased separately add up to
almost twice, if not more than, the cost of the package as a whole.

The "Competition Package" isn't only the exclusive hardware add-ons (Seat Belts/Sway Bars, etc.),
it is also and more importantly comprised of specific ECU programming.

Cheers!

Does it have the ZCP seats???? Most likely not. 666'ers can be had, mine has the 437, by choice.

He is just asking about how to ID the exhaust alone.... not if the car has packages.

Might be a part number on the exhaust itself, no?

OE is Original Equipment aka 'BMW Original Parts' aka 'What you buy at the BMW dealer with a BMW label'

OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer... EITHER the company that made the OE part or.... A part this is identical to the OE part, but is sold by the OEM under their own label

OEM is not what BMW sells

Thanks for the input everyone. I have a service appointment coming up and asked them to check for part number for me. Iím assuming itís the ďnormalĒ exhaust but it wonít hurt to check anyways.
