low pressure fuel sensor?

I have a 2008 535xi, twin turbo with 110,000 miles. Things are starting to go wrong with it.

Last week: smell of gas, white smoke, rough idle. (replaced all six fuel injectors and spark plugs)

Still smells like gas but runs fine. Repair shop ran the codes and found the code: 29f3. BMW has a recall for the high pressure pump. Called dealership and they said 75% chance it is the high pressure fuel pump. In that case, all costs are covered for replacement. If it's not the high pressure fuel pump, then it's the low pressure fuel sensor. In which case, I pay. Any idea how much low pressure fuel sensor replacement will cost? (They could not provide me a quote until they scanned it, etc., etc.)

I love the car and want to keep it, but it's turning into a money pit.

Where is the low pressure fuel sensor? Is it an easy fix?

If you know how to remove the intake you can get to the low pressure sensor.

I had to replace mine on my 2008 535 too.

You may be able to do it by feel reaching under the intake

Do you mean the air intake / air filter housing? I saw a Youtube video with that repair, but it was on a 7 Series. If it's under the air filter housing, I could swing that repair myself; I think. Thanks
