New guy sorry. Looking for tuning solution.

New to the forum and new to BMW, we recently purchased a 2011 X5 xDrive 35D. Great little SUV/SAV whatever they wanna call it. But I cant leave well enough alone. For some back ground info i have custom tuned our vehicles myself for the past several years and have also ventured into doing calibrations for coworkers and friends with great success as well. In that time I have used EFI Live, HP Tuners, Max Calibration Control, Hondata, Warp Tuning, and other tuning suites. So here in lies the question, WHAT IS THE GO TO TUNING PLATFORM to tune these smaller BMW diesels? As much access as possible flash tuning with data logging as well. Please tell me my only option isn't a 10,000 dollar KESS setup.

I promise I searched and searched, I hope I didn't just over look a good option. Thanks in advance folks.

Your best bet is AARodriguez Corp. Talk to Andrew. https://www.tunemyeuro.com/bmw-x5-diesel/ They are the US reps for JR Auto Performance.

I see that you are close to Birmingham, AL. AARodriguez is located in Dallas, GA, so not too far away from you.

If you are looking for a DIY BMW tuning platform, good luck.

Let us all know when you find one.

OE is Original Equipment aka 'BMW Original Parts' aka 'What you buy at the BMW dealer with a BMW label'

OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer... EITHER the company that made the OE part or.... A part this is identical to the OE part, but is sold by the OEM under their own label

OEM is not what BMW sells

Dang, I was hoping that wouldn't be the answer. But i get it. I just wish HP Tuners would pick up on it. They would really benefit on a large untapped market (DIY tuners that is).

JR isn't worth the money. I ran 2.8 for over a year and now switched to BRR. there's no comparison between the tunes. Jr feels slow and laggy

This seems to be a popular place for diesel deletes and tuning.
