I think by March when dealers take their 1st unmodified showroom model, will we start see customer orders starting to show up.

The M2's designer is Hussein Al-Attar. Also, yeah those ISIS guys are a wild bunch, but I'm sure many of them are also car guys.

I bet M2's will cause M235i sales to drop by 75%.

Hello Everyone!

I have been on this forum way back around 2005 till about 2008 when I was debating a M3 vs Audi RS4. Got an Audi back then...needed AWD. I officially flipped the switch!

So got a question...my dealer has 6 allocation spots and I got the last one. The first couple are already built coming in April. Does anyone know when the next round of building is going to be? I have a 047 order status and no production time yet -- dealer said he still does not know. Definitely verified several times that this was an allocation and not a waiting list car.

Anyway I got Alpine White , 6spd, executive package. Can't wait!!!!

What does BMW mean by "mixed performance tires"?

Mixed = wider in the back.

I love the looks of a staggered (wider rear) tires but hate them for not being able to rotate the tires - you burn thru the tires way too fast!

The pre-LCI E36 M3 had a square set-up, a full size spare, and non-directional tires. So, you could do a five-tire rotation pattern.

The wider rears really help when trail braking into a turn. But, BMW's main motivation was aesthetics and tweaking the cars into understeer. Oversteer causes lawsuits.

A square set-up is one of the reasons I went with the Luxury Line package instead of M Sport. But, the tires suck. But, they're going away real soon.

2017 BMW M2 pricing and ordering guides are now available - https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=916801

We should see an increase in production of the M2 for 2017, hopefully this means more cars in the hands of enthusiasts in the coming year.

I know this thread is a few months old, but I was just able to place an order on an ///M2 this past Monday, 9/19. I called every dealership within a 50 mile radius. There were only a few scenarios:

they had an M2 in stock and wanted $10k over MSRP,
they had one allocation with a long waiting list and no timeframe & they wanted $10k over MSRP and a $2000 deposit,
they could put you on a waiting list with $1000 deposit in hopes of them getting another allocation with no timeframe, or...
they had no more allocations for 2017 and didn't know if or when they would get one, advised me to call back in 6 months.

Needless to say, I consider myself VERY lucky!
