M Coupe low speed pad knock

I've only managed to put a total of 170 kms on my Coupe but I have noticed quite a bit of pad knock....anyone notice the same? Seems to be on the passenger side front, any feedback would be appreciated.

Otherwise I love my new Coupe!

essentially a thunk or clunk caused by a shifting brake pad...usually a faulty pad clip or an illfitting after market pad causes pad knock.

not much of a problem when I've seen it. Recently Francois's z had a pad knock and antisqueal fixed it up fine. We reckoned the excessive rain last winter had washed out the pad grease.

Agreed witk Cookie...in my case the car is brand new...someone on another forum experoenced the same low speed knock and is replacing the pad retaining clip so I will give that a try. In no way foes this have any effect on braking prformance; it is merely an annoyance...thanks to all for reading.

Now if I can only figure out how to mitigate the seat belt sawing through my neck I'm good to go!

Try www.z3solutions.com for a seat belt pad -- although I assume that a local BC auto shop will have something similar.

Look down their catalog page at http://64.225.94.154/ShopSite/page71.html for the seat belt pad item.

I think I've seen seatbelt pads at BMP too.

Pad Knock here as well

I've got the pack knock on the passenger side as well. I have been to the dealer twice and of course, it will not reproduce itself. I am going to take it apart and put some anti-squeal in there and see what happens. I will post results.

Play around with the pad retaining clip as I thinl that could contribute to the sound as well.

Brake clunk

Just started, if I tap the brakes hard there is a clunk, not an abnormal grab just a clunk, and the steering wheel does a little shift. If I brake smooth it's OK. Not speed dependent.

Any ideas?

Dude. You are reviving a 13 year old thread with the wrong car type. Try maybe in the Z4 section and maybe on a more recent post. Good Luck.
