2011 E90 passenger footwell power outlet question

Should this specific power outlet in the passenger footwell area have some kind of cover or should it be "naked"? I noticed that mine does not have a plastic plug/cover of any kind, it's just a hole with the outlet. Thanks.

It should be uncovered as you described, based on what I've found in my 2010 E90 and 2012 E91.

Mine is the same way too. Very inconvenient location, hard to reach. 2011 335i.

Well, it does open downward and is out of sight. There's no cosmetic reason to cover it and hopefully not a lot of chances for things to fall "up" into it.

Yep, naked. You can feel for it with your finger to see if it is on...

I keep one of these plugged in there and I keep the cord in the glove box. Perfect to charge your passenger's phone/iPod/whatever:

During my ED orientation with my car, the associate was nice enough to point it out. Much more convenient for charging as you can throw your phone/cord on the floor.

Tom,
you definitely win the "most cool gadgets" award. Between this and the grocery caddy you've got it all covered.

OP, I moved the plug from the center console outlet to the footwell outlet as my cell phone charger lives in the outlet in the console.

Mine's uncovered (always was), but my Garmin navi plug is permanently in there.
