Trouble finding VIN decoder.

Hi all, Going to look at a E39 soon. The owner sent a photo of the VIN and I tried to run it on ReolOEM and Bimmer.work with no luck. I remember when I ran the VIN on My Z3 a couple years ago it seemed to work fine. Is there another site I can try? Thanks for any advice, Mike.

I don't believe RealOEM will show your car's options, just help you find parts. I tried Bimmer.work on my VIN and it worked as expected. What type of response are you getting from it? If you are trying to run the E39 VIN, it is possible they gave you a bad number.

Thanks khammack, a list of the options would be nice! Anything about the car would help. I know very little about these cars. Just what I have learned here. There is only 4 pics of the car in the ad. With RealOEM I got the engine size and type of tranny. With Bimmer.work I got nothing, It would make me try again. The owner sent a closeup photo of the VIN on the title and I I tried both sites a couple of times, not that good with the keyboard. I will try again, thanks, Mike.

There are several other VIN decoders you can try. Iíve used decoder.bvine.com, bmwarchive.org, as well as bimmer.work in the past. There is also mdecoder.com that you could try.

Thanks zed3roadster,I googled a couple, no help. I will try the ones you recomend. Snowing hard here now so I will have a day or two to work on it. I hate rolling around in the snow looking under cars! Take care, Mike.
