Coming from an Evo IX MR its like driving on clouds. Compared to anything else its firm enough that its still comfortable to daily drive without the adaptive suspension but stiff enough that its enjoyable in the twisties.

Also depends on your response to above's question.

I have a '13 with the M Sport Suspension (no adaptive suspension, it is what it is all the time)... I'll compare it to some cars I know:

Firmer than:

- 2004 Mazda 6s
- 1999 Audi A4 2.8 Sport with 16's (Yes, a bit firmer. This is a good comparison... see below)
- 2010 Jetta
- 2005 Volvo S40
- 1992 GTI (Close? Been a long time)
- 2010 A5 2.0T convertible
- Any stock Accord, Camry, Passat, Mazda 6, etc.

Not as firm as:

- Evo 8
- 1999 M3
- 2000 Z3 Coupe
- 2003 STI
- 2008 911 stripper

Very close to:

- Above 99 Audi A4 2.8 Sport with stock sport springs, neuspeed bilsteins and 17's. But more refined.

Maybe that's not all 100% accurate, but it gives you a sense. Perhaps others could add to it.

It's firm, but not harsh. Refined. Yes, you're gonna feel it on rough roads, but it's really not that bad. Very nimble in city traffic, and lane changes are very accurate. Yes, you're gonna wince every now and then when you hit a pothole and wonder about your lovely 18's... but it's also gonna help you avoid the very same potholes.

I live in a city and drive my Sport Line every day. To me rough roads also means traffic. I love how nimble the car is, navigating through traffic is just telepathic. It's a good balance for me.

This is, of course, is all in the b*tt of the beholder.

The E90 sport suspension (at least in the 335i) was teeth rattling and bone jarring over rough roads. The F30 is pillow soft by comparison.

Blasphemous though it sounds, I'll bet that the M Suspension with 17's instead of 18's is a really nice ride.

I like it with the 18's (as is), but maybe a good option for taking the edge off a bit if you find the M Suspension a bit too firm... but still better handling than non-sport suspension with 18's (I'm guessing, anyways).
