I understand the Munich factory closes down for a few weeks in August. My car was supposedly ordered on 08/11 and I received a Production # last week. I just called the 1-800-831-1117 number and the car (a 428) still doesn't have a production date scheduled yet. My Production number is 382####. Does anyone else with an August order have a production date scheduled yet and what is the production #? The 38th week of the year is 09/15-09/21, is that what it means?
I called 800-831-1117 to get a production date for my Alpine White 335i Sport Line. Ordered at a dealer on 9/3, order accepted 9/9. No firm production date yet, but customer relations said the estimated completion time is week 43, so the week of 10/20. Hoping to pick it up on Black Friday.
Production # 38639XX. It was originally slated to be a Black Sapphire Metallic 335i xDrive as shown on BMWUSA.com the day of the order. The dealer revised an existing production slot to fit what I wanted.

I was advised that there is currently a shortage of M brakes and that was the cause for my production date being set for 11/2. So I removed that feature and unfortunately in doing so, it also removes the sweeter wheels/tires and reduces the top speed limiter to 130mph vs 135mph. I hope I'm not making a huge mistake in doing this on my 428i.

You can get the increased top speed with performance tires and no msport brakes on the 435i. Would think you could do the same on a 428i. And I believe its 155/135. Not sure though.
Excited that the 435i msport I ordered early August is finally in production this week, with production completed this Friday Sept 19. Hopeful I'll get it before the snow flies here in the mitten.

bummer. i am not able to track my car on ww and my sales guy is not able to get me the info on the k-line vessel. i'll just have to wait till it arrives in the US.
My CA was beyond useless, couldn't tell me a damn thing. I had to find my car by tracking the VIN on WW and KLINE's sites...finally showed up on WW's site about a day and a half after it left port.
My dealer told me my car was loaded on the 16th but did not have the name of the ship. I saw the Freedom and Oregon Highway both left Bremerhaven on the 17th. I just checked and both ships left SouthHampton UK today and are headed to Baltimore, MD. The 800 # is useless as it says the car is awaiting exit. I put the vin # in the WW web site and it continues to show no record, so I'm hoping the car is on the KLine Oregon Highway as it gets to Brunswick, GA 2 days before the Freedom. Just wish my dealer could confirm car is loaded and on its way. Frustrating...
My car is finished and on the way to the port. Once they get on a ship what is the average time to get the car delivers to the dealership? I'm in Texas. I have not seen any post breaking down the times from port to port and then how they transport the cars from the U.S. port to the dealer.
It should be on a ship, it hit the port on 09/09 or 09/10, so it should be on the Freedom or Oregon Highway, both of which left on 09/17. Thanks as I will call tomorrow and hope a rep is available to talk to.
It's now been 9 weeks since I placed my order and 8 weeks since I got my production number. I still don't have a build date. Really starting to regret going with the Individual interior.
My car has now been in status 155, "final assembly / quality check" since Sep 11th. Almost 2 weeks. My dealer tells me this is not abnormal, but I know it is. Really aggravated.
A 2015 550xi M-Sport to replace my 2011. Also have a 2013 335i coupe, which is why I was in the 3 series forum. Evidently, the individual interior really impacts the timeframe from order to build.
Marine Traffic webpage shows the Don Juan heading 109degrees at 13.6kn off Halifax. It needs to turn south and then west to be in NY. It is suppose to be in NY on the 24th at 0500.
After 2 weeks stuck in status 155 (final assembly / quality check), today my status changed to 190 (dispatched from AG). What does that mean? Does it mean it's on its way to the port? Or does that mean it left Germany on a boat?
The tracking sheet from my dealer now also shows:
170 Vehicle planned for workshop
172 Vehicle scheduled for workshop
174 Vehicle in workshop
178 Workshop exit
Does that mean they had to fix something after it came off the line? It was stuck in status 155 (final assembly / quality check) for two weeks until the status finally updated today with a ton of new codes.
Here are some codes for you. To get the latest call BMW NA and talk to a rep not the computer generated status.
180 Waiting for Export Dispatch
181 Waiting for Domestic Dispatch
182 AG Load No. ***8212; Released to Carrier
190 Dispatched ex(port?) BMW AG
191 Returned to BMW AG
193 Arrived at Port of Exit
194 Selected for Shipment
195 Shipped from Port of Exit
196 Shipment Arrival ***8212; ATA
After my car was completed on Sept. 19th, a few days later when I called it said the car was in the "body shop". Obviously a hiccup in the system!
