E89 Adaptive suspension

Hi,
just been to get the front shocks on my z4 e89 35i changed. I have the M adaptive suspension. and have been told they are going to cost me just shy of 1400!!

Anyone found a cheaper way to do it?

Don't get adaptive ones would do it.

You didn't say what the cost is for parts and labor. Do it yourself Is also a cheaper way.

I think that would be a bodge as it was one of the things that attracted me to the car. I will bite the bullet.

I have a 2011 35i and had to replace my struts at 30k miles. =/ Luckily I had 3rd party extended coverage, otherwise it would've costed my $4500 USD for both front struts.

2011 30i leaking front strut

I have a 2011 30i. When changing the oil today I noticed the right front strut was leaking. I have the M adaptive suspension so, It looks like it's going to be expensive. I plan to do the work myself and was wondering if anyone knows of a good replacement other than the OEM BMW struts that might be less expensive? I found the OEM struts online for just under $600 each. Oh Yea 42k miles. Seems to me thats seriously premature to fail!!

I have a 2010 30i. I replaced my adaptive fronts at about 47,000 miles due to leaking on both sides. You can replace them with non-oem or even non adaptive struts. but if your car came with adaptive struts, the car will throw an error code unless you buy the wire harness to bypass that protocol. I think if you do some research online you can find the manufacturer of that harness.

No, I looked up the prices before I got a car with active suspension. The shocks with the valves only cost 50% more than the dumb ones. I forgot what it was, but nowhere near your price.

Look up some oem bmw parts sites. The OEM ones should be affordable.
