What is the M-Sport Version?

I am looking at a low mileage 2017 X5 50i M-Sport. What is the M-Sport? It looks like the M-Sport comes with black wheels. Other than that, what is different from a non M-Sport of similar packaging? Thanks.

Here are the differences I can remember off the top:
- different body kit
- blacked out trim instead of chrome
- different wheels (19, I believe)
- sport seats (very nice)
- sports steering wheel
- sports suspension (main difference being the paddle shifters)
- 30 points of baller status
- probably more.

There is a "sticky" thread at the top of the F15 X5 home forum page for pricing and ordering guide...one of for the 2018 model year and the other happens to be for the 2017 model year (which you're asking about).

Download the 2017 ordering guide to a device and you can educate yourself as to what is included in the mutiple option packages etc and/or what was a stand-alone option. This way, no one will have to rewrite (and possibly miss) what's already written and laid out in great detail.

I clicked on the thread (it was the 3D from the top) and downloaded the 2017 ordering guide. The screen captures below are for the 2017 X5 50i...look though it for the sport pkg info to see what could be included in the package. Take note that within the package are more options indicated by "or" (which should be self-explanatory) which means that a vehicle could have or could not have that option.

Thanks for that. I actually did download the ordering guide but did not look into it in more detail until your post. It looks like the one I am getting is quite loaded. I'm hoping to get the keys in hand in a couple of weeks. I'll post pics and more details at that time. Thanks again.

Oh Yeah, now I know what the M-Sport version is. Mine (my wife's, actually) arrived on Sunday and I'm readying for registering it in MD. Really neat truck - 2017 with ~8,200 miles on it, loaded, origin is California, clean CarFax for what its worth:
  • Ext: Black Sapphire Metallic/Int: Black Dakota Leather
  • Executive Package
  • M-Sport Package
  • M-Sport Package with 20" M Double-spoke wheels, style 469M with performance run-flat tires, Aerodynamic kit, Anthracite headliner, Black Sapphire Metallic, M steering wheel, Multi-contour seats, Roof rails in High-gloss Shadowline, Shadowline exterior trim and Sport Automatic Transmission
  • Lighting Package
  • Drive Assist Plus Package
  • Cold Weather Package
  • Added Options: Apple CarPlay Compatibility, Comfort Rear Seats incl. backrest angle and fore/aft adjustments, Front ventilated seats and Parking Assistant

The truck has two small scratches otherwise it's near brand new. Haven't driven the truck that much. Thus far, everything works as desired. It's much quieter than I had expected, coming from a 2012 X5 3.5i. The acceleration at WOT is truly voluptuous. Though not as crisp as the 3.5i, this thing takes off with a nice throaty sound - instant grin on my face. I think I can live with it - my wife is going to find a way to peel me off. I also notice more cheaper plastic construction in the tail gate area and motor compartment compared with my 3.5i, but there's really no rattles to complain about.

A few pics are attached - may post more later.

Question: What options are there to mount the front plate w/o drilling into the bumper? I use the two hook on the 3.5i but this one seems to be more challenging, it seems.

Thanks all.

Nice addition: you'll love it! We have the shinny 469's. Fun car to drive. Be careful with the wheels, they're expensive to replace!
